Hayden Hyde went back also. English rugby is getting more benefit from these IQ camps then Irish rugby so far. Should be interesting to see how it goes.


Bernard Jackman mentioned that the IRFU employ 3 people in the UK and would be better off spending that on the Irish game. I would agree with him. If those players are good enough for international rugby then an english team will come calling and England will look to cap them so they're not going to be interested in an irish academy. Talent wise, only Addison has slipped through the english net and even then it's probably because of his inability to stay fit.

Where can I watch it?

Every match will be broadcast in Six Nations territories either on terrestrial TV, broadcaster streaming platforms or via Six Nations digital channels.

BBC iPlayer will stream every match in the Championship for fans in the UK, while in addition Italy v Wales will be broadcast on BBC Two Wales. The final game of the Championship on July 13, Scotland v Wales, will also be shown by the channel.

RTE will show all of Ireland’s matches to fans in the Republic of Ireland, while France TV will show Les Bleuets’ contests in France. Italy’s matches will be on Sky Italia.

Fans in Ireland, France and Italy will be able to watch matches not involving their home sides on YouTube and Facebook Live, while these platforms will also be available to fans worldwide.

Richie Murphy named his 34-player panel to travel to Wales for the 2021 Championship last week but hooker Lee Barron and scrum-half Ben Murphy have unfortunately been ruled out of the tournament through injury.

Levi Vaughan(Terenure) and Will Reilly(MU Barnhall), who was involved in the Ireland U20s Talent Camp held at the IRFU High Performance Centre last month, have been called up and will travel with the squad when they depart Dublin on Thursday.

Barron and Murphy join hooker Tom Stewart, out-half Cian Whooley and second row Joe McCarthy in being unavailable through injury.

I was impressed with NM's performances for Connacht this season, particularly the last part of the season. If his brother is a similar player, he's got the size to really make an impact at this tournament and hopefully further down the line as a pro.

201cm/115kg is really big for an Irish U20 lock ... we've had taller, but not very many who combined height and weight. The only second row I can think of at that size was John Madigan of Dolphin, and he never actually played for the U20s in a tournament. Danny Qualter was also a big lump as an U20, but he didn't make the 2m mark.
