Munster’s attacking game has been shocking. They’ve had nothing apart from the mauls.

Yep. I was thinking about since and it was the Owen Farrell wrap, a token effort to throw an arm up just so you can say you made an attempt. No coach in the world teaches that as a tackle technique.ronk wrote: ↑May 28th, 2021, 9:12 pmHe was looking to lay a hit on a guy falling into touch. He knew the player was falling and was trying to hit him as he fell. That he subsequently gets it wrong isn't really mitigation.LeRouxIsPHat wrote: ↑May 28th, 2021, 8:52 pm That’s lucky...shouldn’t be any mitigation for me. Haley knows full well that the player is being tackled and the idea that that’s a proper wrap is nonsense. If you lead with the shoulder like that and connect with the head it should be red.
Very lucky.
Cardiff shouldn't be in this game.

Well that was a pointless captain's / captains' challenge.
I don't get why POM and CJ are both there talking to the ref

I’ve mixed feelings, maul started going forward after the call to use it.fourthirtythree wrote: ↑May 28th, 2021, 9:22 pm That was stupid. Seriously stupid. Had the winning of the game there.

Telling comment from Andrew Brace on his mic after the full time whistle
"its a captains challenge mate...I know, I don't agree with it"

Not sure I get Brace’s logic there. He says it doesn’t matter if it was out of the ruck but then says it was kicked back in so it’s a free kick.
Munster blessed, that was a terrible performance and they got some lucky decisions.

Doesn't the ball have to be out of the ruck before it's kicked back in?
In any case, the captains challenge has been a shocker of a trial, hope it dies a death.

The final Captain's Challenge was a joke. The TMO queried whether the Ref "was sure the ball was out" and Brace just ignored his question. The ball wasn't out on the evidence shown and Cardiff should had a penalty / line-out / try sequence to put an end to the JVG era of suffering for Munster fans.

The game took nearly two hours as well and it’s not like there were any major injuries. I don’t mind a captain’s challenge for foul play but not for shite like that.

He didn’t ignore it every time, he did say that it doesn’t matter if it was out or not, but then told Cardiff that it had been kicked back in, which obviously indicates that it needed to be out to be an issue!Ruckedtobits wrote: ↑May 28th, 2021, 9:36 pm The final Captain's Challenge was a joke. It was a free kick, the only way you can play a ball in a ruck is back towards your own goal line - you don't have to take it all the way out, but you can't move if further in. (ooer matron)

There’s something very satisfying about watching Munster absolutely creaming themselves about winning a Rainbow Cup game. Long may their low expectations continue

Yep, in this case the challenge turned a correct "non decision" into an incorrect decision - the polar opposite of the spirit of the thing....LeRouxIsPHat wrote: ↑May 28th, 2021, 9:37 pm The game took nearly two hours as well and it’s not like there were any major injuries. It was designed for this. You have nothing to lose by not using it to roll the dice at the end of a close game.LeRouxIsPHat wrote: ↑May 28th, 2021, 9:37 pm The game took nearly two hours as well and it’s not like there were any major injuries. What's the story with challenging non-decisions? Is it allowed all game or just in a period at the end?
Dont Panic!

There were 3 of them over nothing right at the end.ronk wrote: ↑May 28th, 2021, 9:42 pmIt was designed for this.
