Surprised Osborne has been getting game time ahead of him tbh. Always thought Cosgrave had the full package he’s always been very good defensively too. Would be interesting to see if he gets game time soon.

Why? I don't think it's been surprising at all, especially given Osborne's performances and that Cosgrave hasn't been viewed as a potential centre for quite some time.

And now the 6 nations and the Pro 14 is over I imagine Cosgrave will be hoping to play for Leinster A at some point between now and the u20 6 nations.

Plus Osborne is physically more than capable at pro level, they might have wanted Cosgrave to develop a little bit more physically but to train with the senior squad to get the taste for it.

physically he is closer to a professional level scrumhalf than a centre.

Is that what they're called?

I remember back in the day I used to jump on and off a ~2'9'' high outdoor table 40-60 times (or 5 sets of 20) and when I'd finished those muscles were all pumped up.

Good bit thinner/lighter than them too and obviously not as them talented as either.. which why he has been viewed for some time as a fullback/wing.

Cosgrave's closest and most realistic comparison to a current leinster player is JOB.

Comparisons to Darcy and BOS are ridiculous.

He is objectively a good bit taller than either BOD or Darce, that is all I wrote.

Cosgrave isn’t thin at all he seems very muscular and seems he has put on a lot of weight the past year and he is around 6 foot/ 6’1. He’s bigger than Garry Ringrose was in terms of muscle mass when he was his age and is around similar height to him. He’s always been very good defensively and also looks taller than JOB. I don’t know why you’re under rating Cosgrave so much.

No he is not.

I'm rating Cosgrave appropriately, he is a very good back three prospect who needs to prove his ability/potential at irish u20 level and Leinster A.

At the same age Ringrose had proven his ability/potential for ireland u20 and looked a long term fit for 13. Cosgrave has not.

Osborne is a better prospect than him, which is why he has been playing ahead of him all season.

Comparisons to JOB are hardly a bad thing, he is very versatile, skilled outside back who has the potential to be capped for Ireland.

We can only hope Cosgrave reaches that level too, but Cosgrave is not some schoolboy phenomenon ready to play pro rugby straight out of school ala Luke Fitz. He might have been hyped as such when playing schools rugby, but that was just hype.

A good summation. His size, as it relates to strength, is not ideal and Max O'Reilly has the same issue.
