Fitness & Workrate - You have to be able to sprint for pretty much the whole game
Defence - Your 1 on 1 tackling and decision making has to be spot on
Catch & Pass - Every player is expected to be able sling a 20 yard pass to get the ball out wide.
Most of the passing I've seen in 7s isn't far off hail mary touch rugby passes to the edge.
It might be 20 yards but they're floaty at best and hardly likely to be applicable to 15s.

Tim Corkery at senior training today, a player that really interests me.. From Kilkenny RFC, he was starting outhalf of very talented u18 club side in 2018, but didn't make an irish u18 sides that season. He failed to make the Leinster u19 summer training squad after initial selection but was brought in as an alternative after injury ruled out an outhalf, he went on to be the starting outhalf for the leinster 19's in the interpros over highly rated schools outhalves, one of whom played for ireland u18.

He earned a sub-academy place after his time with the 19's and a Leinster 'A' appearance while still only 18, He made last season irish 20's a year young and was the bench outhalf in the three games they played. He faces strong competition for this seasons 20's 10 jersey but he would have to be favourite for it now. Finally he is very young for his age grade, not turning 20 until December.

further follow up info - he played minor hurling for Kilkenny and went to St. Kierans College. He played towns cup for Kilkenny while still in school, starting at scrumhalf for the club before moving to UCD where he is currently on scholarship, having started games for them at 10 and 12.

Leinster have a lot to thank St. Michaels for, but overseeing the development of James Ryan and Ryan Baird is certainly up there near the top.
James Ryan could have gone to a hedge school and he'd be an international rugby player.
Not so sure about that.
More likely he'd have been winning All Ireland's with the dubs.
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall who's the greatest player of them all? It is Drico your majesty.

Don't think he'd have the pace for senior football. More likely poached by the AFL

Trying to piece together next year's academy intake through sub-academy players who have been selected/trained with the senior squad since Christmas

1. Jack Boyle [LH]
2. Tim Corkery [OH]
3. Jamie Osborne [C]
4. Chris Cosgrave [FB]

Who am I missing?

I think but not 100% sure that Osborne will be in Year 2 when it's announced.

Those are the u20 eligible players who have been pictured training to date.

I'd imagine the other player who will be getting serious consideration is Lee Barron[STMC/Hooker] based on his involvement with Leinster A and need.

I must say Corkery's progress is great to see, Charlie Tector[Kilkenny College/OH]/Karl Martin[Boyne-Old Belvedere/C]/Shane Mallon[Longford-Roscrea/W] are three U19 backs who are highly rated but may have to wait a year due to covid.

Want they do at scrumhalf too is a question, does Ben Murphy(Pres Bray)/Will Reilly(Portlaoise/MU Barnhall)/Rob Gilsenan(STMC) get an offer or do they wait?

Other than that these U20 players were involved with the irish u20 squad:

Hugo O'Malley(Loosehead) - Blackrock
Ben Grififn(Tighthead) - Coolmine/Castleknock
Sam Illo(Tighthead) - Wesley
Ronan Loughnane(Hooker) - Birr/Roscrea
Mark Boyle(Backrow) - Gorey
Aaron Coleman(Backrow) - Belvedere
Harry Colbert(Outhalf-Centre) - Gonzaga
Matthew McGettrick(Wing) - Terenure

Someone who seemed highly rated last season but has disappeared this season, maybe due to injury is Josh O'Connor(Wexford-UCD/Wing)

And of course two big names who have been confirmed to have been released by the sub-academy; Will Hickey(STMC/Backrow) and Marcus Kiely(Newbridge/Centre)

A possibility but starting to look unlikely, you'd have to say.
