Right, from reading the comments directed at my comment on the match which includes getting blocked by one poster, I will bow out of this discussion.
I tried my best to keep it pg and not to offend, so I apologise if you took offence.
Hopefully we get you in the final.

Just because a post upsets you, that doesn’t mean that it is wrong. People have different views in all aspects of life, this is a key ingredient to an interesting conversation.

Don't know why anybody is getting wound up. Of course you support your team, blocking people for having a different opinion is a bit ridiculous. Part of rugby is post match chat in the clubhouse.munster#1 wrote: ↑January 25th, 2021, 1:59 pm Right, from reading the comments directed at my comment on the match which includes getting blocked by one poster, I will bow out of this discussion.

I'd have been pished off after losing a close game too. Bloody frustrating to get close and not close it out.

Some of the headline stats from ESPN are quite a bit different from those tweeted by Leinster - but they're interesting in light of some of the inaccurate and downright biased media reporting on the game:

Munster have been going well and Leinster have been a bit patched together with vulnerable areas worth attacking. Munster got joy in tactical kicking and when they got quick ball. But a few players hit form at the right time and a stronger Leinster team was still enough to overturn the deficit.

Funny, though not completely surprising, how subjective sports stats are.Dexter wrote: ↑January 25th, 2021, 2:44 pm Some of the headline stats from ESPN are quite a bit different from those tweeted by Leinster - but they're interesting in light of some of the inaccurate and downright biased media reporting on the game:

When I was in college myself and a few friends did the stats at GAA and rugby games now and again, without much direction or any training. I would always take the player specific stats with a pinch of salt.

So one person took umbrage to your reference to a supposed "missed crooked throw"? Big Deal in effin' Dodge. Don't be put out by that, in ainm Dé. I for one took no offence in your Munster-tinged account of what was a cracking game. I actually thought it was a fair call. We're Leinsterheads, you're a Munsterhead. Jointly we've a Pro14 Final to look forward to in this ongoing rivalry. Knocking heads is part of it. No bad feelings, dude!!!munster#1 wrote: ↑January 25th, 2021, 1:59 pm Right, from reading the comments directed at my comment on the match which includes getting blocked by one poster, I will bow out of this discussion.

Had a look at that match winning line-out again. Looked straight enough to me tbh.
You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1
It wasn't straight, it wasn't within cooey of being straight.
But if the opposition doesn't put a jumper in the air, refs are disinclined to penalise it because they aren't being disadvantaged, especially if its going outside the 15. Beirne at the Munster tail actually aborts his pod lifting him because he sees it's going outside the 15 - if he'd gone ahead with the lift the ref would have given the scrum/lineout option

Isn't the opposition given an option of scrum/lineout when there is a crooked throw? i.e. not a free kick.Dave Cahill wrote: ↑January 25th, 2021, 4:45 pmIt wasn't straight, it wasn't within cooey of being straight.

That lineout was crooked but like Dave pointed out....there was no munster players competing for it.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall who's the greatest player of them all? It is Drico your majesty.
Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1
Yeah I do wonder about that. Seems to be a good bit of divergence in some of them. The possession, territory and metres mades stats are fairly consistent though.Laighin Break wrote: ↑January 25th, 2021, 3:25 pmFunny, though not completely surprising, how subjective sports stats are.Dexter wrote: ↑January 25th, 2021, 2:44 pm Some of the headline stats from ESPN are quite a bit different from those tweeted by Leinster - but they're interesting in light of some of the inaccurate and downright biased media reporting on the game:

Blocking someone for a fairly standard complaint about a clearly crooked lineout that the winning try came from is proper snowflake stuff!
Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1
The line out was in the grey area where many line outs are but don’t get slow mo replays.
There’s no actual definition of how straight it needs to be but there’s a working one that works off the position of the ball relative to the jumper’s body.

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1
The actual definition is that the ball must be thrown straight along the mark of where ball goes into touch.
Most lineouts are 1-2 degrees within this.
This particular lineout ended up being collected past the outside arm.
So it probably should've been called as crooked.
It wasn't, which is great for us.
But to block someone because they pointed out it probably was? Really like?!
