For anyone else reading this prime in Ireland may not work. The football wasn't on prime in Ireland as it was on premier sports. There are ways around it though if you already have prime. I'm not sure I can post the details here but it doesn't involve vpn.

Italy v Fiji is now cancelled.
Fiji have gone from 1 to 4 to 29 cases in just over a week.
They might want to look again at their covid bubbles. But it shows how quickly things can get out of hand with the disease. They might not be able to play any game at this stage.

Romain Poite also refused to look at Elliot Daly's shoulder charge to the head of the Welsh wing on the touchline and gave a scrum peno against Samson Lee despite Mako clearly having collapsed on his tummy thru having his feet too far back. How much advantage do England get, ffs!!! They're so full of themselves, hooping and hollering every couple of seconds, while the commentators big them up the whole time. Painful to watch. England v Wales and France v Italy must both have contained the highest % of possession kicked away plus record numbers of tackles in the pro-rugby era and were both terrible spectacles.

JS has a serious challenge in his brief as Director of Rugby Development in World Rugby. No suggestions for him at this point. But absolutely convinced they've got to do something about it.

They’d be doing this regardless of the recent changes.

Going a bit further back there were some changes that make it harder to defend kicks near touch lines. There’s also been a bit of leeway given to hitting players as they land and no leeway given to players catching the ball in terms of holding on.

Some of the comments of Iain Henderson about what and how the Irish pack are trying to improve the line-out are strange, but not unusual.

Over years of working with different teams the same comments have been heard from pack leaders who are convinced they need a "menu" of almost limitless options from the line-out. No team does. An out-half will broadly get ball off the top, from front, centre or back or from a mauled line-out. Each of these alternatives is impacted by how the opposition respond to what has occurred in the seconds it takes most line-outs to be completed.

That is what the Irish half backs and team have to react to. At least in part, the flaw has been in the half backs being too inflexible to react and adjust their choice of options. That must be one of the priorities at the weekend.
