Don't suppose there's any chance of players not required for the France trip being released back to us for this match?

That fact we're not playing till Monday might help. I wonder would we train over the weekend? That would allow some integration.

Seeing as they may need be involved on Saturday it could mean we had a back row of Ruddock, Conan, JVDF for Glasgow

That'd be nice!

My guess is no one will be released to protect the Covid Bubble.

Pure speculation on my part.

Can't see players who don't practice with team all week being parachuted in ahead of lads who have.

I get your point MI and you may be right but if players like Conan and JVDF don't play on Saturday and again aren't used on Monday it will be quite some time before they've actually played and I don't think that would be good for anyone (Ireland or Leinster).

IanD might be right about that bubble thing though. I never though of that.

Anyway we'll see soon enough

Andy Farrell says Ireland will bring 31 players to Paris (matchday 23 and eight reserves)

Kieran Marmion the reserve scrumhalf, but Farrell confident in JGP's fitness

There were no new injury concerns from the Zebre Rugby game but there was positive news for a trio of players that came through their returns from injury with no issues and, as a result, Dan Sheehan (cheekbone), Dave Kearney (hamstring) and Dan Leavy (knee) will train as normal this week.

Cullen also outlined that both Rory O’Loughlin (calf) and Cian Kelleher (hamstring) had missed the game against Zebre with minor strains but was hopeful that both would be in the mix this week.

Seán Cronin was also ruled out of the Zebre game and he will hope to increase his training load this week after a minor thumb injury.

Another player hoping to increase his training load this week is Ryan Baird as he seeks to recover from an adductor strain injury picked up against Benetton two weeks ago.

Both Cronin and Baird will require further assessment before a final decision is made on their involvement against Glasgow.

No new injuries from the Zebre game.

ROL and Cian Kelleher missed the Zebre game with minor niggles but should be available this week.

Sean Cronin has a minor thumb injury but will step up training this week as will Ryan Baird. Sounds like a week too soon for both though.

There was no new update on the following players who remain unavailable for selection:

Max Deegan (knee), Tadhg Furlong (calf), Jordan Larmour (shoulder), Vakh Abdaladze (back), Conor O’Brien (hamstring) and Adam Byrne (hamstring).

Eh. I thought Tadge had a back injury?
Pretty worrying to have this endlessly prolonged.

Considering Glasgow are conference rivals I'd like to see us go fairly full strength at this.
Assuming we don't get any of the Irish lads back, I'd go:

Dooley, Tracy, Bent, Fardy, Toner, Murphy, Penny, Rhys, McGrath, Harry, Kelleher, Frawley, ROL, DK, JOB
Cronin, Milne, Parker, Molony, Leavy, HOS, Hawkshaw, TOB.

I wonder do we risk Leavy on a plastic pitch on a cold Monday night? Might be prudent not to!

How do you not use him? Fardy in the back row? Moloney or another academy lad?

Yeah probably start Molony and bench Fardy in the backrow spot.
I'm sure Scott P can do the full 80.

Given Leavy's injury, I wonder if playing him on a 4g pitch second game back is right? But then again I haven't a f%~kin clue and I'm sure the Leinster medical team will have examined that.

Leavy 23 again.
Such a testament to his talent, and to the professionalism of Leinster, that he is getting such a well-managed reintroduction.
