They are only 3 points behind Connacht at the moment with an easier run in than Connacht have got. Pip Connacht to 5th and they make the play-offs for the Champions Cup. They will have plenty to play for tomorrow so I can't see them losing interest.

I think we can assume now that Lowe will start against Saracens, so it's between Daly and McFadden for the final berth?
I would like to think so, with Nick McCarthy on the bench next week, but I don't follow why we can assume that to be the case. To me it looks like Lowe will be left out against Sarries with Fardy and JGP lined up to feature in the QF 23.

To me it looks like the half of the team for next week with changes to come at 1, 3, 4, 7 (Jordi to 6), 10, 12, 13 & 15.
I feel that Lowe was maybe rested here so he's fresh for next week. Otherwise you would assume Leo would have rested Fardy with McCarthy then coming in for JGP next week.

Daly must have impressed in his few weeks in Carton House or Leo is worried about Lowe's defensive shortcomings

Its good for Leinster that there are still a few places for next week, both starting and on the bench, up for grabs which hopefully will encourage those playing tomorrow

Would have preferred Joey at 10 and Lowe playing but there it is. Good side which I expect will be good enough to win. If we don’t we need a rethink on team and players.

It should be an interesting game, our pack is very strong - though they have AWJ and Tipuric, their backline is very strong - though we have the likes of Carbery and McGrath.

I hope Ross Byrne is over whatever was ailing him over the last couple of games.
Very strong pack but 10-13 I'd worry. I believe is Larmour is out for the Saries game.....

Match Preview

So Ireland are Grand Slam champions for the first time in nine years.

Leinster were the major suppliers to the winning squad with fourteen players in the final match day squad and another five who were named in match day squads for the other games. Of course it's great to see the lads making such a great contribution to the national team, but it's a double-edged sword in terms of Leinster's prospects for the rest of the season. Josh van der Flier and Robbie Henshaw are now probably out for the season and the likes of Johnny Sexton was fairly banged up by the end of the championship.

The Ospreys can still qualify for the ECC through a playoff as I believe an earlier post posited?

Given that we have the two Italian teams at home in two of the remaining three games, I would say a win here should see us all but home and hosed in the conference. Especially given Scarlets' run in, Munster could do us a big favor this weekend.

It’s not looking likely at the moment. Scarlets up 7-5 and looking far the better team.

What's the point in slapping the ball out of the scrumhalf's hands there?
