Not sure whether Longford put out their strongest squad or not, likewise with Clondalkin going down 8-3 to North Kildare. I think they rested most of their squads to focus on the upcoming league games.

Nobody should under estimate the boys from Black Gates on their day they are a match for any one! Nobody wants to play Tullow in the cup

Nobody was underestimating them. I think they just weren't concerned about the towns cup this year so rested some players.

Absolutely savage game between Newbridge and Boyne today. Could have gone either way once the two ambulances had taken one from each away after a sickening clash of heads. Great game of rugby. Boyne 17-0 up after 10 mins. Great comeback from Newbridge. Boyne just about deserved it. :happy clapper: Big injury toll after today tho. Its a big ask to front up this weekend again against a physical Tullamore side.

Any predictions on this weekends Towns Cup Semi Finals?
I reckon Tullow will give Dundalk a very good game and win narrowly. They have no truly outstanding players but are strong from 1 - 15 and will be very fired up.
Think Tullamore might sneak the other semi.

My prediction would be a Boyne v Dundalk final

And tullamore sneaks past. Tullamore are definately a cup team. Will their final experience stand to them?

Tullamore are the favourites for the cup now, that was a great win for them!

When will the bookies be giving odds and taking bets on the Towns Cup? I assume Paddy Power will be the first?

Enniscorthy and Skerries also got byes and would surely be up there with Tullamore and Newbridge as the main contenders ............

Considering i'm backing one of those two to win 1A I suppose I'll include them too!

Shock result today. ASHBOURNE 16 - TULLAMORE 6.Ashbourne totally outplayed the visitors who under performed. Tullaomre played unimaginative 10 man rugby with very little going outside their 12 and no use of their blind side wingers and no great use of their 10s boot either. Ashbourne on the other hand, matched the big Tullaomore pack up front but were far superior in their game play and the use of their backs. Their out half, 12 and two wingers were a massive threat any time they got space, each of them beating at least one defender evry single time they got posession. Ashbourne's back row were also outstanding in their work rate. Tullamore must have gone away wondering what happened, they were out-played and out-thought and Asbourne's defence was just far superior.
Carlow also went out at the hands of Roscrea, another shocker.

Yep,as said above,Tullamore were absolutely clueless! At no stage did they even look like they had a cutting edge,if you walked in offf the street and didnt know both clubs you wouldnt have guessed who was the Div 1 A high flyers and AIL Junior finalists and which were the 1B strugglers! It certainly sets the cat amongst the pigeons! There cant be too many teams fancying a trip to Ashbourne if they play like they did yesterday!

Right folks,we are down to the last four!It pairs two middle rank teams from division 1b,Ashbourne and Tullow(I know Tullow were in relegation playoff but all bar the bottom team had a very good season and were only one win from safety) and Enniscorthy and Newbridge!Whats peoples thoughts? You would have to fancy Ashbourne considering they have bet Tullow twice this year and having seen Enniscorthy earlier this year,I fancy them to go on to win it!Should make for some very entertaining games this weekend!!
