Organised Sunbathing aka Cricket

Post by wombatloko »

Come on, are you seriously trying to tell me that cricket is a real sport.
Surely it's just a made up game by people who can't play normal sports,
such as darts, snooker and golf.

In other words, you don't like it nor understand it so it's not real?

Cricket is a real sport. There ya go. It might be, statistically, the 2nd biggest sport on the planet (baseketball is big at junior level like soccer in countries that don't give a sh!t about it after, like Canada) with it being the only show in town in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh. There's just shy 2 billion people for ya. A lot of people to be fooled by a non sport

20/20 is good fun actually but its pretty much killed test cricket as a viable entity.

Good fun though it has a limited international appeal.

Not on my watch it won't! I don't know what sport 20/20 is but it's certainly not cricket.

Agree totally. Looking forward to couple of days at the Australia v Pakistan test at Lords and to watching the rest on TV. Could be good!

Don't be so cynical.
In fact I was the top home run scorer, Leinster Senior League, 2005.

He's obviously new money. The egg and bacon are too shiny, and he has the smug look of somebody that voted to allow the women in.

Australia have lost a lot of steel and fight from their middle order in the last couple of years and it's really starting to show.

Could I risk saying that we have two day's excellent test cricket with Australia deaing better with difficult batting conditions. The match is not over yet, however. Back home and will watch the remainder on Sky.

Allowing for the relative shambles of Pak cricket at the moment, still very decent to win there. Was the pitch deliberately set to embarrass the Pakistan board?

So you got to see Afridi go nuts? Seriously, the guy lives in a parallel universe where Pakistan constantly need to get 25 off 7 balls to win a match (and they win a lot of those matches). He's certainly not living in the universe where Pakistan were in deep trouble and needed a calm, experienced head to guide his youngsters. The guy's an absolute fruit loop.

He seemed to lose the plot complletely. Also, his captaincy in the field is rather eccentric at times.
