Where to watch the LI game in Manchester
Anyone know a decent spot to catch the Leinster game in Manchester? In and around the Trafford, Altrincham or City Centre area???

Very tough to find a pub with Sky in Mancland.

This one's a good spot 5/10 mins by cab to Old Trafford
Edit: Oh I just remembered that it has a Benneton F1 hanging from the ceiling.

There's a Waxy O'Connors in Manchester, they might have it.

Bear in mind, tottenham leeds is on tv at 5.15pm and you know how the boozers, especially in the UK, and even more especially in Manc, like to show any, repeat any, footy over rugby. Having said that however, Walkabout would be a safe bet I'd imagine

They often have 2 SKY decoders therefore can play 2 sports at once (as there is no shortage of screens).Degz wrote:Aye, the one in Manc is just down from oxford road station. Its a dump mind ewe.sheepshagger wrote:Love em or hate em they have lots of TV's with SKY and are dotted throughout the UK.

Munster. I hate the word, as I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee.
Re: Where to watch the LI game in Manchester
It may be worth trying around Sale rugby club, I mean actually in Sale not Stockport. There may be some rugby boozers around there.
I've found that the Walkabout and the Sports Cafe in Manchester will normally stick the game on one of their many screens if you ask. They seem to have an infinite number of sky decoders. I once watched a Leinster game on my own in the corner of the Sports Cafe while there was a (non Manc team) soccer game being shown to everyone else.

Its a by-pass. You've got to build by-passes.

Your best bet for this game in O'Sheas on Princess Street. When I was at University in Manchester I always went to this pub and was usually able to watch Magners League and Heineken Cup games, there was pretty much no where else. Failing that, the Dog and Partridge in Didsbury is a good bet.

I'd second O'Shea's on Princess Street, central, close to the Beeb, you could catch the met from Altringham to St Peter's square and it's a short walk from there.

Oh by the way, Waxy O'Connors in Manchester is terrible, don't touch it with a barge pole. They are good in London though

The Waxys in Glasgow put me off the lot of them. Most soul-less Irish pub I've ever been in.The Pride Of Ireland wrote:Oh by the way, Waxy O'Connors in Manchester is terrible, don't touch it with a barge pole. They are good in London though
