Blackrock starting to dominate. Their power through contact is telling and they've got the skills too.

Great game, but realistically the cup was won in the first round when Rock beat Michaels (just about).
After that it was a procession.
Any other year Gonzaga would probably have won it.

I wonder if this team is the highest scoring cup winning side in history. 50 points in the final. 40 odd points in QF and SF. Mad scoring

It was the first time a team has scored at least 50 points in a final in 122 years. The last time it happened was 1900, Blackrock beat Corrig school (now known as CBC Monkstown) 63-0

Standout players for me - apologies for not knowing their names

Blackrock - 2,3,6,7,13 and 15

Zaga - 4 and 10 were both excellent.

I think the three Rock locks (4,5 and 19) have been excellent in every game with Tom Brigg (4) looking like just a really good intelligent player in all aspects of the game from ball in hand/over the ball/out of touch/defence etc. I think they are all 5th years so it will be interesting to see how they progress or if any of them move into the backrow next year because they didn’t look particularly massive but maybe my eyes were deceiving me (mildly might know their heights/weights?).

Rock were missing their two first choice locks in Michael Colreavy and Alex Mullan who are back next year, with brigg probably moving to 6 or 8.

By jaysis the rock are back are they? To my knowledge michaels had several imports and couldn’t win a cup. Furthermore 70 Cups any danger of a bit of competition.

Very good game. Michaels deserved it over the 60 minutes but very impressed with both sides.
Roscrea came back into game well after getting an early score then going 19-7 down but Michaels had bit more to get the win

Some going by Roscrea to make only their second ever final in 80 odd years not long after the school nearly closed a few years ago. An echo of Gary Halpin's roll in recent years before his untimely passing perhaps.

It was a ding dong match and Roscrea's centre, the new Rob Carney, is one to watch. A real talent.

Wer it not for three strikes against the head, two of which were in the Michael's 22, it might have been a bit different.

A 6th JCT for Michael's, 3 in 6 years.

interesting to see Michaels win it this year and they were heavy favourites for the 2021 cup, seems like they won the u13 cup recently too.

still hard to look past Rock next season at SCT level.

As a school much larger than all others bar Belvedere, that has won 70 and competed in 85 finals out of 134 competitions (an incredible success rate of 82%) and 7 wins from 9 in the last 20 years, Rock are always expected to be there or thereabouts and most always will be seen as favourites.
