watched the Roscrea game and wesley were much better, which was a surprise given the representative talent in side.

Newbridge have some excellent backs, as do Gonzaga.

No team will come close to Blackrock.

Very impressive performance from Blackrock here. A total mismatch in size. Rock 3 and 13 very very good

Big Joe's younger brother apparently.

Birch was talking him up as a future superstar for anyone who wasn't listening on mute to yesterday's commentary.

He needs to tidy up his off-loading instead of show-boating his little flicks off his right hand. He has a great looking physique but doesn't need to acquire any bad habits or ideas about himself. It's a very long road to get up to Furlong.......and most of it is in the scrum and maul.

All that said he's a real prospect for a successful professional career.

Like I said a few weeks ago, the Rock-Michaels first round game looks like it was the SCT decider .... no one else is going to get within an asses roar of Rock now

The Leinster u-20 contingent/representation for Ireland next year is going to be dominated by those 2 schools I reckon .... as will the Leinster (sub)academy intake

Gunne and P McCarthy could go straight into the academy

Berman (eligible for 2 years at u-20 AFAIK), G McCarthy, Victory, Jackson, Molony, McErlean (if he gets over his injuries) could all end up in the sub academy as well

its always dominated by those two schools, but I don't think they'll overwhelm it, theres plenty of talent elsewhere if not in schools rugby.

A Leinster U20 side could look like this:

1. George Hadden(Gorey/Clontarf)
2. Gus McCarthy(Blackrock)
3. Paddy McCarthy(Blackrock)
4. James Doyle(Enniscorthy)
5. Jim Peters(Portlaoise/Clontarf)
6. Diarmuid Mangan(Newbridge/UCD)
7. Liam Molony(Blackrock)
8. Josh O'Hare(Dundalk/Lansdowne)
9. Fintan Gunne(St. Michaels)
10. Sam Prendergast(Newbridge/Lansdowne)
11. Jed Tormey(Belvedere)
12. David Dooley(Tullamore/MU Barnhall)
13. Hugh Cooney(Blackrock)
14. Noah Sheridan(Wicklow)
15. Andrew Osborne(Naas)
16. Tom Barry(Gonzaga/Lansdowne)
17. Adam Duffy(Dundalk/Lansdowne)
18. George Morris(Gonzaga)
19. Daniel Leane(St. Marys/St. Marys)
20. Dan Carroll(St. Michaels)
21. Oscar Cawley(Naas)
22. Darragh Gilbourne(St. Marys)
23. Henry McElearn(St. Michaels)

Maybe some super talented under-19's get in there like Sam Berman or Reuben Moloney.

Michaels should run away with the plate, as will Blackrock with the cup.

Other plate 1st round games this week
Clongowes v Gerards Bray
Pres Bray v CUS
Michaels v Cistercian Roscrea

Guess Vinnie Murray final will also be played in next week or two with both finalists out of cup..
