25-20 to Blackrock final score. Great second half from both teams.

Should have been a penalty try.

Irish 20s will be in safe hands again next year, will probably see a few players from both teams playing for the Irish 20s next year

Both hookers were really impressive as was the non prop shaped Rock 3. Rock 7 was a nuisance at the breakdown while the Michaels 15 looked classy.

That was an incredible match to be at .... some atmosphere in the ground ..... probably over 5,000 at the game I'd say

That was the final right there ..... Blackrock won the cup today as no other side will get within 15 points of them (maybe Zaga at a push)

Tom Brigg (rock 7) was indeed a total nuisance .... he'll be back next year too. No idea how he didn't get a yellow though ..... he conceded 3 or 4 maul penalties I think

James Nicholson (Michaels 15) played right wing for Leinster u-19

Gunne will play 2 years of Ireland u-20 and I'd be fairly confident he has the potential to be Irelands next long term 9

Paddy McCarthy has what it takes as well

These 2 teams will be head and shoulders above everyone next year again ..... think Michaels have 10 or 11 of todays squad back next year ..... and the current Rock 5th years are seriously strong too

It's absolutely nuts for them to be meeting in round 1

Are Michael’s not just missing the 2 backs and rock the tighthead?
That was my understanding

The tighthead, Paddy McCarthy, did play and was outstanding.
Rock missing Cruise O'Brien (Leinster u18 no.7) and Ethan Laing (Leinster u19 wing).
Michael's missing Henry McErlean (Leinster u19 15), Jules Fenelon (Leinster u18 wing) and Ben Howard (Ireland u18 tighthead).

Excellent game, shame it had to be the first round as you say. Intercept try was probably the killer as Michael's are always chasing the game after that. Rock's breakdown work was excellent whenever they had a sniff, although they were very lucky not to get a yellow late on from the maul penalties.
Both hookers were excellent, as were Brigg, Victory, McCarthy and Nicholson.
Gunne is the real deal, his defence is a real point of difference too.

Gunne will only be eligible to play 1 year of 20s.

Gerards Bray 12 Newbridge 31
Cistercian Roscrea 10 Wesley 30
Marys 46 CUS 24

Kind of surprised at margins in some of these games especially the Wesley Roscrea game. Thought that especially would have been much closer.
