Rock dunzo?

Post by williamstowndude »

After several generations of Blackrock College pre-eminence, no one can dispute that the vocational school on Ailesbury Road is now the essential link in the Leinster supply chain. Is Rock finished?

on the roll of honour - Michael's 3 cup wins places them between St Andrews and Corrig School - a bit to go before they catch Rock on 69.

Andrews have 4 I think - so maybe St Michael's should focus on passing out Andrews first. And on producing the quality of individual that somewhere like - for example - CUS does.
I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

Is the title of this thread what Stan Wright did? Or is that equally cringe?

Belvo are Michael’s main competition now as the last two cup games have been only one point between them and Belvedere beating them 3 years in a row.

I think you might reflect on a few things. Michael's have only ever beaten Rock once in SCT Cup (last season) and Rock have won the SCT Cup 6 times this century to Belvedere's 4; Michael's & Clongowes 3 each; Terenure twice and Mary's and Roscrea once each. That Rock, Belvo and Nure are twice the size of anyone else is relevant to their success rates over the years.

It is fair to say that the 4 schools that have won it 16 times in the last 20 are all seen as the serious competition to each other year-in-year-out. It could be said that Clongowes are beginning to slip after 5 years without a final and 8 without a win. Terenure (10 years since a final & 16 since winning) and Mary's (11 & 17) have pedigree but are both out of contention for 10+ years. Then any school in a given year or two can also challenge, a la Roscrea.
