Schools Rugby 17-18
From watching the game I was pretty impressed by both teams.
The scorline is a bit unfair on Terenure, the 2nd try they conceded was unlucky. I thought they didn’t threaten very much apart from the first try, and had little territory, although still looked strong. They enjoyed some nice spells of possession, and were able to shift the ball to the wider channels effectively. Number 15 Sam Dardis was very good under the high ball and showed some nice footwork. Adam le Grue also took an opportunistic try from a smart piece of play with a quick pick and go.
Michaels weren’t great at the beginning of the game, but grew into it. The defending for Terenure’s try was sloppy although for the rest of the match it was very solid and didn’t have too many problems nullifying Terenure’s attack. They seemed to lack some creativity though, probably due to the injury to the 10 which caused a shift for a number of players. They also gave away a surprising amount of penalties. These can all be improved upon although they aren’t looking like an sct wining team yet. Number 5 Ryan Baird was superb, got through a ton of work and carried powerfully. Other big names such as Scott Penny, number 7 and David Ryan, number 12 also impressed.

Yeah it’s pretty remarkable that Jack Boyle is starting at prop in an u19 competition despite being 15 years years old. He carried very impressively as well. It’ll be interesting to see what position he ends up in the the long run, whether it is 1, 8 or another position.mildlyinterested wrote:3 fourth years starting for michaels.. two in the front row..

Some of the ultras had a melee outside Kiely's later on according to the INDO.

The funniest line, for me, is that everyone had scattered by the time the Gardaí arrived.simonokeeffe wrote:There was bad language and everything involvedthe spoofer wrote:"Violent" punches.R-Dog wrote:It was an "Insane" fight apparently...

There's a station less than 100 feet from Kiely's. What took them so long!?
