No rugby on TV? Colours match live 6.30

Post by El Diablo »

If you are at a loose end at 6.30 this evening and cant make it to the Belfield Bowl, the Colours match in the AIL between UCD and Trinity is being live streamed. Details here:
http://www.irishrugby.ie/news/39429.php#.WOdg0fkrJpi
The AIL points are particularly important for Trinity to ensure Div 1A status next year.

The UCD team is named here

Great line up of some of Leinster's finest young talent. Big challenge for Trinity off the back of a defeat to Marys. Big weekend of AIL matches ahead.

A bit of a nerdy question, but how come both teams had seven subs in a competition (UBAIL) with a 5 sub restriction?

Andrew Porter scored an important try in the 1st half on Friday and was impressive in defense. However the UCD scrum was under a lot of pressure surprisingly. The UCD backs were clinical with Tommy O'Brien creating something from nothing in the 1st half and running a lovely support line to finish from a Gavin Mullin offload to kill off the game in the 2nd half. Barry Daly again impressive.
Trinity on the other hand lacked a cutting edge and couldn't turn pressure into points early on. Silvester scored a cracking try in the 2nd. Hogan never got good quality ball to show what he could do. They are in big trouble now. After Terenure's incredible BP win against Lansdowne, Trinity must be favourites now to go into the relegation playoff. They need to do something dramatic to have any chance of avoiding relegation.
