Leinster schools won 27-19. Four tries (two for inside centre, one for hooker and one for replacement winger) and a late penalty. Close in first half, but Leinster well on top in second and should have won more comfortably.

Re: Age Grade Interpros
That hasn't happened for a while - a Leinster Schools team tryless
Re: Age Grade Interpros
Munster schools were down to 14 men twice aswell.
Leinster's inability to play heads up creative rugby at underage level and always playing to a prescribed system, this is reflective in the lack of highly skilled/creative backs being produced by the underage system. They have a good deal of individual talent in this team but the coaches have done a poor job translating that to a functional team. Hopefully they can turn it around, 3 more games to go.

Re: Age Grade Interpros
Bit of a joke so many academy players are playing in the u20 interpros..
Re: Age Grade Interpros
A decent amount of lads are carrying injuries to be fair but playing the likes of Heffernan is not greatgoreyguy wrote:Bit of a joke so many academy players are playing in the u20 interpros..
Re: Age Grade Interpros
I don't mean this to sound accusatory or rude, but why is it such a bad thing your Academy players were playing in this game? Is that not what these games are for?
Our squad was pretty much our entire Academy with some development and a couple of club players in there too.

These interpros should be for players outside the academy setup.UlsterMan wrote:I don't mean this to sound accusatory or rude, but why is it such a bad thing your Academy players were playing in this game? Is that not what these games are for?

If they wanted to have an academy interpro then create one, not replace the current u20 one and replacing many u20 players who trained all summer to play the u20 interpros.
Re: Age Grade Interpros
I don't know how Leinster set their squad up, but our squad was specifically called "Ulster Academy and Development". Our understanding was these new development games would be for the Academy lads to get more game time throughout the season.
Hey, you creamed us anyway. Par for the course I guess

Re: Age Grade Interpros
More gametime throughour the season? There will be 3 games afaik.
Why did they remove the u20 interpros? u20's who trained all summer to play in them were dropped for academy players.. its a joke.
If they wanted the academies to play each create another set of interpros for players over 20

Re: Age Grade Interpros
More game time for academy players together is a good thing is it not. 20s players will still have been screened and looked at as potential players for future development.goreyguy wrote:More gametime throughour the season? There will be 3 games afaik.

Wont there likely be less 19s playing up at 20s/development/academy level which will strengthen the 19s interpros??
