Leinster League 2012-2013

Post by Dublinner »

Right its time we got the ball rolling for the coming season. How are the various teams shaping up for next season? Have there been any significant coaching appointments or player transfers. Which teams have strengthened or lost players? Who will be in the shakeup for silverwear this season?

Tullamore are playing Nenagh tonight so that will be a good test for them. Heard that tullamore have strengthened with signing of a player or two

Wicklow have Niall Smullen and Ken Copeland as player coaches this year, by all accounts have big numbers at training.

Monkstown have two South Africans but little is known about them, a fly half and back row. By all accounts Fosi Pal'amo has hung up his boots too.

Gossip is that the Out half looks like a prop and can knock them over from halfway. Might close out a few tight games for them.

Back rower can play 2nd row too.

Fosi will join the coaching team and maybe get an occasional game.

I also heard they were considering playing for another team (who will remain nameless just in case) before they ran into a Monkstonian in a pub...........

Fairplay to Monkstonian so.Interesting podcast on knockon.ie yesterday talking about Fosi and their lack of cover if he is to bow out. Ken Copeland at Wicklow? Player - nice! Coach - not so sure.

Fairplay to Monkstonian so... A 10 who kicks from there with size? Happy days so, means the brother of Munster scrummy Gareth Williams may slot into the 9 spot so. Interesting podcast on knockon.ie yesterday talking about Fosi and their lack of cover if he is to bow out. Ken Copeland at Wicklow? Player - nice! Coach - not so sure.

Just to let ya know ken Copeland's coaching has been excellent so far. Our Numbers at training are great. And some of the underage players coming through our system are excellent they will make a huge difference this year.

I wasn't knocking him Wicklowwarrior, knew him from school days so was unsure how he was fairing in the coaching game. All will be revealed, Money on Monkstown to go up however. Rumour has it Dave Mcallister (Terenure) is making his way there... anyone heard anything? Tullow and Wicklow to battle for second.

if its true about Dave Mcallister, Monkstown will be in a strong position. But From what we have seen over the last few seasons is that it will be very close and the amount of points you can pick up away from home will be crucial. It seems that every team in this league is ambitious and have recruited well, so whoever can build that little bit of momentum early will have a good chance. Also if any club can stay as close to injury free as possible that could be the small difference

Exciting times ahead

Any body heard whats going on in Garda ??

No seconds this year and also struggling to field a team, at all ........

Surely the economic cutbacks demanded by our German masters does not include NO rugby to be played by our coppers ???

Was talking to their president a couple of weeks ago, few lads have got stationed in Munster, and a few retired, the wrong side of 30.. With the recruitment embargo, theyve been hit hard tryin to get players in. Think he said they're missing 9 of their starting 15 from last year..

Just had a gander at some pics from the Wanderers Railway Spencer cup game and no sign of either, that is where I heard they had gone. Rumours again I guess, god bless silly season.

garda result went as predicted today. tongan no8/prop has left the country for those wondering. player exodus due to fustrations with the set up in westmanstown. a few have hung up the boots, others have joined other clubs. attempts were made to drop out of 1a.
