Apologies if this has already been covered.
Can anyone explain the selection process for the sub academy?
How many players are selected? And what is the process for selecting 10 players for the academy 2 years later?

Re: Selection for Sub Academy
Players selected based on potential to join academy in future year's or have potential to be pros and leinster feel they need extra year before they're in full academy and involved in full set up in ucd.
Numbers can vary per year and players aren't in sub academy for a set time. They can be added dropped through the year. It isn't a set figure for sub academy. How the players adapt to pro set up of sub academy and Dave fagan and Trevor hogan and others who work with them in donnybrook helps determine who may step up to full academy

Re: Selection for Sub Academy
Leinster seem to be getting a little more strict on clubs players having to move to senior clubs if they want to make the sub academy. Some junior clubs were able to hold on to their lads last year but I'm not sure if that is the case currently. It may just be that lads want to give themselves the best chance of making it.ormond lad wrote: ↑August 6th, 2024, 3:11 pmPlayers selected based on potential to join academy in future year's or have potential to be pros and leinster feel they need extra year before they're in full academy and involved in full set up in ucd.
