It's a film at Christmas - not a Christmas film. The plot would work any time of year.

It’s set on Christmas Eve.
John McClane is coming home for Christmas.
They are at a Christmas party at the Nakatomi building.
John famously wrote on the henchman's jumper - now I have a machine gun. Ho-Ho-Ho.

It’s a f%~king Christmas movie.

Fuppin hate that movie! Banned from my house.
You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!

I enjoyed 8 bit Christmas with the childer the other day.

And I'm looking forward to Tokyo Godfathers - they're huge anime fans and a bona fide Christmas anime has them stoked.

Never properly seen Die Hard but it's been on (at Christmas) bit like Mary Poppins with fewer songs and more explosions. They could both stand to swap some elements if I'm honest.
