Hey, anyone lifting from home?
I've been lifting for approximately 30 years, but still learning. I've some DBs and a bar (no rack or bench)
What are people doing?
I'm going for old school lifts
Deads
Squats (don't ask)
Dips (on my old WWF style steel chair)
Curls (hammer and concentration)
Shoulder presses
Thrusters
Tricep extensions
Push up
Front shoulder raises
T Bar rows
Bent over rows
Chest flys
Not all on same day. Plus long family walks along the Dodder weirs

Re: Covid Workouts
Cheers RP - I need a pull up bar, couldn't get one last week at all - I'll take a look later.RoboProp wrote:Hey, anyone lifting from home?

For legs:
lunges are a good bang for buck exercise,
haven't found a replacement for squats yet, but i'm getting good results for Hammys and Glutes from box step ups.
those funny sideways walk with the band on your knees (what that one called?)
for Chest:
superset slow push up with isometric hold with single arm Kettlebell floor press
for Back:
superset reverse Rows suspended from kids trampoline with BOSAR with Kettle bells
for Shoulders:
super set lat raises with dumbell press
arms are being worked with chest back and shoulders already so they're grand.
Cardio:
High intensity is some HIIT sessions, some Kettlebell swinging and getting into some skipping
low intensity is mainly walking the doggy.
for midsection:
mainly planks and variety of situps and twists
Re: Covid Workouts
I may bite the bullet and buy a power rack, I miss heavy lifting, and I'm worried I'll end up being mistaken for an ex-backrower the longer this goes on
Re: Covid Workouts
I had a bench and some bars and dumbells and weights in work. Mixed in with weights from other people. But as work was 200m from my gym I never used them. The place was being decorated in Jan and I presumed they were all put away somewhere. When this started I asked about them and found out the whole lot went in a skip in Jan.
I have one curling bar and a pair of 10KG weights and no collars.

Re: Covid Workouts
I have a bench and rack with a bars (Olympic and ez-bar) and plenty of plates.
I’ve been doing 4 days a week - chest, shoulders/arms, core and back.
Should be doing a legs day too but I hurt my knee two months ago (bad bruising and partial ligament tear) and it’s still very sore and I don’t trust it yet. Need to start doing some strengthening on it before I start doing some squats.
