Getting A Jersey Framed
I have the current white jersey signed by most of the squad and I'd like to get it framed. The local framers (in Carlow) although very good are looking for somewhere between €180 and €260 to frame it. Just checking if there was somewhere else you'd recommend that would do it more cheaply. Happy to travel if I can save a lot. Thanks.

I'll look them up, thanks!

You could also try Absolute Framing in Churchtown (beside/behind Super Valu).Morf wrote:I have the current white jersey signed by most of the squad and I'd like to get it framed. Re: Getting A Jersey Framed
I've done it myself using one of Ikea's frames and the results are OK... You'd definitely get a better result (or at least I'd expect you would!) from a framer but if you're on a budget its an OK option (€30-€40 euro).

Hang Tough only seem to frame photos/paintings from what I can see from their site.
After spending €85 on the jersey and the hassle (2 open training sessions) to get the autographs I'm happy to pay someone to do it well.

Re: Getting A Jersey Framed
If your budget can stretch to it, get it them with a deep frame edge/boxed, got 2005 and 2009 Lions signed jerseys framed the traditional way and it doesn't look nearly as good.Morf wrote:Thanks, I'll keep them in mind.Xanthippe wrote:You could also try Absolute Framing in Churchtown (beside/behind Super Valu).Morf wrote:I have the current white jersey signed by most of the squad and I'd like to get it framed. Re: Getting A Jersey Framed
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep them in mind. A rough idea what you paid to have them framed in each place would be great, thanks.

Def check out previous work as we have some very mixed results. Best stuff I've got done was from a place in Donegal (mate helped out) and was also the cheapest but that's not much help to you. Echo calls for doing the box frame and not having the glass against the jersey if possible.

I've had 2 done here, very happy with work and a quick turnaround, done in a week or so.Xanthippe wrote:You could also try Absolute Framing in Churchtown (beside/behind Super Valu).Morf wrote:I have the current white jersey signed by most of the squad and I'd like to get it framed. Cost was ballpark 160/190 I think and would also recommend the 'box' effect.
Mention that you are a Leinster fan & you may get a discount.
Get in the f%~king bag.

Thanks for the reply. Will keep them in mind.
Re: Getting A Jersey Framed
Wouldn't mind hearing about the end result.

It could be a while before I have the cash to get it done.
I'm missing Mark Flanagan, Andrew Conway and Damian Browne from the senior squad. I think it's as good as I'll do though.

Nice, question is do you get the third star put on before you frame it?
Also for hang tough just give them a bell if they don't say jerseys on their site I'm sure they give you a price on the phone

A local sewing/alterations place would do that, do you reckon?

Whilst I dont think you would be able to use the guy I used (as he is UK based), this might give you some creative ideas -
He hand painted the frame blue, and has used UV glass to prevent fading. a great job and I love it....it is a deep box frame so the glass is well clear of the shirt itself.
