Wild ones episode (ep 140ish) is up there with one of the greatest 40mins of audio I have ever heard.
Roman Mars has the most captivating voice, I would identify his voice a risk to my ability to concentrate on the road whilst driving.

I am a radiotopia contributor such is my appreciation for their work, I'd have to recommend Benjamen Walker's Theory of Everything also. His stories are such an effective way of explaining cultural phenomenon. Start with: Interserfs, where he "hires" an intern to help him explore the sharing economy.

Flats and Shanks is a weekly rugby podcast that seems to be all about what Flat's and shanks (two former players and current friends) did last week.
At least that was the case with the single episode I almost listened to the end of. If you want a blow by blow account of their experiences getting the car valeted and
how the barbecue went, I'd highly recommend it.

I gave up on Atlanta Monster, found it hard to get into. S Town is definitely worth a listen. Very unusual story.

I really enjoyed S-town, and Serial series one. Series two wasn't so good. If you like the true crime ones like Serial, try 'Someone Knows Something', 'Accused' and 'In The Dark'. Oh, and 'Dirty John' was decent too.

Just finished 'West Cork' (about Sophie Toscan Du Plantier's murder) and while not as good as the rest of them, it was local and familiar. Just starting 'Up and Vanished', will let you know how I got on.

I tried 'Crime Town', 'Casefile' and 'Criminal' but I didn't really like the one episode per story thing.

Just starting 'Up and Vanished', will let you know how I got on.

Interesting story, but it goes on for over 20 episodes including episodes where the host sets up a voice mail service and answers questions. I didn't like his style, I think he was more interested in 'gossip' than actually solving the crime.

'Atlanta Monster' was by the same guy, it was better made and shorter, but I didn't get as invested in the story as much as I would other podcasts.

'A Murder on Orchard Street' was ok, but it was very short (seven episodes, but they're only about 20 minutes long).

Started 'Young Charlie', it's about Charlie Manson and The Family. Flicks between the story of how he grew up, and the story of the Tate/LaBianca murders.

Interesting. I read Helter Skelter as a teenager written by the state prosecution lawyer Vince Bugliosi. Things that stood out about his early life.... He was 32 when he started "the family" and had already spent over half his life in jail. His first sexual experience was in jail and involved him having his "partner" at knifepoint.

Bizarre setup that family.

Just finished S Town. The reviews here were the only things I had read about it and in truth I probably wouldn't have listened to it had I read a summary intro. Excellent 7 part story.

Haven't listened to podcasts before but "My Dad Wrote a Porno" is hilarious. Listened to it on the train going to and from work, doing my best not to burst out laughing.

Jaysus it was excruciating.

Serial season 3 starts next week, it's apparently no longer one story over a number of episodes. It's a different story (from the same courthouse) each week.

There's one about Natalie Wood's death (murder?) which I will be starting soon. It's about 8 episodes so far, but I'll probably wait until it's all released. I can't be dealing with waiting for the next episode, I prefer it all in one go.

Just finished 'Finding Cleo'. It's about this indigenous family in Canada who were adopted during the 'Sixties Scoop' and their search for their missing sister. It's completely heart-breaking and made me very angry. Would definitely recommend it.
