That being said, when I hear it I will be suitably outraged and remind them the the RA are not their friends and should be neither lionised nor encouraged…

Leinster players were recorded singing Celtic Symphony (the same song the Irish soccer team were singing) three years ago

Re: Friday's rant
Lots of things seemed popular at the time, here’s a short list:
Putting kids up chimneys to clean them
Asbestos factories
Churching women after they’d committed the sin of giving birth
Shaming families from the altar if they hadn’t paid their dues
Beating children in school
Burning witches
Blaming victims of crime
Banning contraception
Criminalising and victimising homosexuals
I don’t know about you, but no matter how popular these things were they weren’t right.

Re: Friday's rant
OK, so even though the goalposts have been shifted a bit there, here’s a shorter list of things that were popular since 1989Laighin Break wrote: ↑October 14th, 2022, 11:44 pmATM mean at the moment.Oldschoolsocks wrote: ↑October 14th, 2022, 11:36 pmLots of things seemed popular at the time, here’s a short list:

Also many of the things you mentioned were not happening "at the time" the song was written, 1989
Racist Jokes
Blaming victims of crimes
Criminalising and victimising homosexuality
So, without judging anyone else, I still maintain that because these things were popular or “happened all the time” doesn’t mean they were right.
And just to go back to my original list, many on this board will actually remember the following:
Beating of children in school
Churching of women who had committed the sin of giving birth
Families being shamed from the altar for not paying their dues
