41,205 attendance for the Bulls v Stormers
The biggest attendance for a Bulls home game since 2009!

The saffers are really taking to the URC

Worth watching to get the Welsh perspective on the whole strike thing. They really seem to be pushing the whole get rid of one club angle.

The budget cuts add so they can all take pain or go a region down.

Everyone who isn't for the region to be cut would be for someone else to take the full brunt of the cuts.

Attendance in the URC passed the 1million mark this weekend.

We as Irish fans can definitely sit back and take some pride in our current situation in comparison to the Welsh and English clubs, but we must not take anything for granted.
Just because a post upsets you, that doesn’t mean that it is wrong. People have different views in all aspects of life, this is a key ingredient to an interesting conversation.

Would it though??

4 South African teams sitting there doing nothing.

4 Welsh teams providing nothing.

Answers itself really.

If they boycott a game, the game does not get played, fans do not turn up, matchday revenue is lost, less money to pay the bills.

I see they're advertising the judgement day double header again for the last round of the league this year. If I were a Welsh player, that'd be when I'd consider striking.

But will allow us to throw them out of the URC for breach of contract. Short term loss for massive gain.

From an Irish point of view....

Munster lose a home game against Scarlets.

Ulster save money on a trip to Cardiff.

To fill gap Munster 15 v Ulster 15 in Fitzgerald Stadium.

Netflix will do a behind the scenes show and there will be a Film and a prequel 12 part Amazon show and a Musical and 7 books and countless newspaper articles.

It will be massive.

You obviously never heard of the Pinergy Shield then?
Won by Munster in their historic victory over the reigning World Champions South Africa.
Before that, according to historical documents, Munster won a League trophy waaay back in 2011, I think it might have been still 4 points for a try it was so long ago. There's an asterisk besides their name though since the other side were all on the p!ss.

That Welsh deal will fairly throttle their competitiveness in the URC for the next few years. 4.5m salary cap and squads of 36. They wanted the ability to cut players who weren't performing, maybe the 36 man squad was the compromise. Tbf to the WRU, some of the regions performances over the years(esp post Welsh squad announcement) have been shocking. Like there is a performanc eissue with the regions(Scott williams is earning 300k pa apparently) and they do need to do something about.
Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

A win in Edinburgh next week secures at least a top 2 finish.
