Connacht 2021/22
Connacht deserve an up to date thread.
Was looking at the Connacht Website to price tickets for the match on Saturday. Shocked to see cheapest tickets are €30 behind the goals, €35 for sideline.
Can now see why they aren't expecting a big crowd.
I was thinking of heading along with a mate but thinking along Leinster prices of €10 hour of power type thing.
€30/35 makes it a very very considered purchase. Can't help but think they are losing out on lots of passing interest.

Re: Connacht 2021/22
The hour of power thing is (was) with the expectation of selling 80% + of the total capacity of Aviva.
Now sure how the economics of it would work out for Connacht and their expectations versus costs to rent it.

Re: Connacht 2021/22
Fair enough.
I would make the same point but in relation to maximising profit from it.
Re: Connacht 2021/22
If you have little to no variable cost then you maximise profit by maxing revenue - selling tickets for €1 would make sense. They should have set the price at a level that would attract non-core supporters. People like me with not a lot to do on a Friday night who would wander down to see a game. €30 is not that price.Morf wrote: ↑October 22nd, 2021, 9:46 amFair enough.

I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

Rent free does not necessarily mean 'sell tickets at any price you choose' though. The Doc wrote: ↑October 22nd, 2021, 10:06 amIf you have little to no variable cost then you maximise profit by maxing revenue - selling tickets for €1 would make sense. Re: Connacht 2021/22
I think it's a general issue with Aviva pricing. There aren't many tiers and they're all pretty expensive. The Bulls game was €35 and €60 (I think) for the lower level and €80 for premium.
Some people get great seats for the same price as much weaker seats. Feels like it's a sop to people with connections (or luck).
Now a lot of fans are willing to pay a premium to get a better stadium and the short term maths probably favours higher prices.
Long term/big picture says build a support base. Especially with rebuilding audiences that might never come back.

You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!

Odd to have a dig that they made a low ball offer. Sounds like an agent having a go at them.blockhead wrote: ↑October 22nd, 2021, 11:45 pm https://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/rug ... 27865.html
Cronin was my main guess, I’m be surprised if they had bid for JJ. If Marshall was on big money I doubt he’s getting it now.

+1. To quote a former Minister "a thundering disgrace".

Connacht getting little from the ref, have a useless line out but still are 17-6 up. Let's hope they don't implode

Sure is entertaining. A bit helter skelter but Connacht a lot sharper and hoovering up any loose ball.

Re: Connacht 2021/22
Well O’Connor was definitely actin a bit of an oxymoron getting a penalty reversed and yellow carded.

Ach it is and it isn’t. Have Ulster been out of their half, this half?
Re: Connacht 2021/22
Connacht need a score to put this one to bed. I'd hate to see them blow it for a second week
