Ulster v Saracens is being shown on BBC I player and BBC NI but of course it maybe geo blocked in the way that RTÉ Geo block games.

On the BBC NI Sport Website rather than one of the tv channels just for clarification.

Is this former Leinster Mick Kearney or a lad with the same name?

No. Apparently the Ultonians got steamrolled by "the incredible power of Billy" et al in the first half - with lots of missed tackles - and that was the end of that.

And Sarries new (scrum half?) signing got red carded. In a preseason match.

Just scanning the You Tube coverage of the Sarries v Ulster game last night it certainly seems like Dan McFarland has produced a tactical blueprint to make Ulster both attractive to watch and effective in execution.

The acquisition of Mick Kearney looks a good bit of recruitment and the slimmed down former Zebre, Leinster & Connacht second-row epitomised what the Ulster pack will be about this season. Quick, hard-nosed and effective ball production allied to improved skills in ball-handling with good footwork pre-contact all look like the hallmarks of excellent pre-season work.

The Squad has now got a blend of 3-5 year experienced players who have grown in experience and acquired a confidence to deliver 80-minute performances at high pace and good skills. Their backline places will be fiercely contested but pace will not be lacking and the experiment of McElroy in the centre adds a further unexpected threat for early Season opponents.

McFarland has always been a good Coach, this team and Squad is his creation and he commands discipline & loyalty in spades. It could be a good journey this season.

Good signing in the right position. Still think their front five isnt strong enough, and they need another player, but this is a really good signing.
