Beautiful Ulster play gets them to the tryline. Vermeulen forces his way over for the bonus point try. Doak converts - 27-12, 50 mins. Game over methinks....

Penaud bamboozles the Ulstermen, which leads to a fantastic Clermont try. Lopez misses the conversion. 34-17, 70 mins

The difference between JJ & Lopez was incredible.

JJ looks a busted flush at this stage.

Clermont could've won that with Penaud/Lopez starting.

With Roberts going next season the fans are talking about one of the following joining Ulster. Niall Annett (Worcester), Byran Byrne (Bristol),George McGuigan (Newcastle), Tadgh McElroy (London Irish) or Jonny Murphy (Connacht).

Personally I'd love to see Annett, Bryne or McGuigan back in Ireland. Murphy hasn't done enough at Connacht to warrant a place and McElroy is too untested as of yet.

What struck me about the above is the realism of Ulster fans compared to a certain other province whose fanboys automatically namecheck mega imports or jealously look east.

Certainly Byrne would feel right at home up north, there's a dozen ex-Leinster lads already in the squad.
You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!

McGuigan or Byrne would be great signings. What they need is someone good enough to bench in Europe but not harm the development of Stewart.

Albeit if McGuigan wanted to move to Ireland he probably would've done so by now.

when you say Murphy hasn't done enough at Connacht to warrant a place do you mean he's not done enough to warrant a place with Connacht?
please forgive my ignorance on this one, I don't really watch the either 3 provinces unless they're playing us or its a big match

Ulster have their main hooker, they need depth to replace the unexpected loss of a player. Munster have loads of hookers, they were only interested in star players available on a budget. i.e. only Dan Sheehan.

Bit of an ironic post considering the discussion surrounding Leinster’s second row signing, and the negative backlash that ensued when it was announced that Munster’s JJ may be heading to Leinster.
Just because a post upsets you, that doesn’t mean that it is wrong. People have different views in all aspects of life, this is a key ingredient to an interesting conversation.

Ironic like when you wait years for a chance for a comeback on Munster recruitment and then you fluff it giving out about Ulster making an enforced signing due to a player leaving early.
