Ulster have been very good to him. Stuck with him through those initial early injury-stricken seasons and have allowed him to go not just with a season left on his contract, but before this season is even over. He put in big shifts for them when he was available for selection, in fairness.

I wonder if they put a condition on his leaving to stop him lining out against them in the Rainbow Cup should he recover more quickly than expected

My guess would be that they don't believe he'll be fit before the end of the Challenge Cup and have decided they're well set for the rest of the Rainbow Cup if he recovered after that.

Potential signings look at how other signings are treated.

Tough luck on Cormac Izzy to do his ACL. Hopefully, McFarland has a full programme and recovery on the S&C side combined with a high grade "rugby experience" education planned for this excellent young prospect who has a bright future ahead right up a senior Green Jersey.

Good luck with rehab.

At least he made enough of a name for himself to make it easier to get chances when he comes back.

Brace was very quick with that double movement call against Blade.
Also, Ulsters maul is really well coached.
You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!

I assume Connacht could have used their captain's challenge in that instant

They could only have used it post the 75 minute mark - provided they hadn't already used it - as a try wasn't scored.

Poor tactics there from Ulster on the captains challenge on 72 mins - last five minutes now only leading by three - they might need it

First time I've been called a babe since my unsuccessful stint in Eternal!

Conversely, great use of the challenge from Connacht

Cracker of a game.
Conor Fitzgerald in not a bad 10.
On the basis of the 2nd Half, Ulster didn't deserve it.

Cheers. I've seen those given as tries though.

I'm not sure you were the kind of Nerding they were after.
