Could they not use Home park?18500 + capacity?Hornet wrote:There is a dearth of big Stadia in the West Country. Ashton Gate in Bristol would be my bet. Argyle's ground is too small and Soton is a nightmare to get to from Exeter. Brizzle is a straight run up the M5 or just over an hour by train.johng wrote:Saints are playing Exeter. Toulouse are at home to Ulster.
The winners meet in the semi. Probably somewhere like Plymouth or Southampton.
We would be at home to Clermont or Racing.

Too small I would guess.
They have to add temp seating to Sandy park just to host the QF
Bristol or Twickenham I'd say.

Or Cardiff? M5/M4 for those by car or bus. Direct/one easy change(Taunton, Bristol Temple Meads/Parkway) trains from/to Exeter. Nearer and easier to get to than Twickers.johng wrote:Too small I would guess.

While Cardiff may be in the "Home" country politically, it is not from a Rugby perspective. The opposite of 2/3 of Ulster.

Munster played Biarritz in San Sebastian, Spain in 2005 and 2010. Saracens played Racing Metro 92 in Brussels in 2012. I know European Rugby wanted to widen the appeal of top class Club Rugby into other countries. With Wales's woeful Elite European adventures in the last 25 years this may be a chance for local fans to watch top class European Rugby. Anyway Exeter's recent trips to Twickenham haven't been the most productive. I would still bet on Ashton Gate though. Don't think Chief fans would be too happy with a trek up to SW London.johng wrote:While Cardiff may be in the "Home" country politically, it is not from a Rugby perspective. You can play a quarter final where you want to, its a home game, not a 'home country' game. The semi is the 'home country' gameHornet wrote:

Basques would argue that San Sebastian is in the same country as Biarritz. Both the French and Spanish governments were really unhappy with the ERC about these games btw
