McFarland is very unlikely to sign a Prop he doesn't think he can improve. I'd certainly give him the benefit of the doubt until ee see the guy after 3/4 matches. A tall tight-head who can lift and lock down a scrum is worth his weight in gold.

I'd say they'll use him more as a loose head
Re: Ulster 2018-2019
Schalk Van Der Merwe has set a low bar in terms of quality. This new lad may well be decent.

Heard a rumour that Pau are realeasing a bunch of their Irish Contingent. Wouldn't be surprised to see maybe Butler or Dougal ending up at a province. Not sure about Foley he could be on the way out too but think he has a year left.

Ulster Rugby is pleased to announce that Alan O’Connor, Ross Kane, Dave Shanahan and Rob Lyttle have signed contract extensions.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Gareth Milasinovich will join Ulster in the summer from Worcester Warriors, where has made 19 appearances to date this season. The 26-year-old prop was born is Johannesburg, South Africa, but qualifies for Ireland through his grandfather Norman McFarland, a former Ulster player.

Dragons 15-28 Ulster . 4 tries for Ulster (Jordi, Moore, Cooney and O'Conner) Cooney converted 3 of them. That is all.

Is this the first time four ex Leinster players have scored.
A. Four tries in a game for another province.
B. All the tries in a game for another province.
Thanks in advance if you come up with even a near miss.
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall who's the greatest player of them all? It is Drico your majesty.

Nor sure if proving he played in an U19 schools interpro (or an u20 the following year) counts as 'getting burned' but whatever - it's not the first time and certainly won't be the last that I made a mistake!blockhead wrote:

First time in a long time i've seen an Ulster team with character actually display it when it was needed.
Hope they continue to improve.

Was surprised by this, still only 31 and is a cracking player (as last weekend proved!). Anyone know what's behind his decision?John23 wrote:Darren Cave retiring at the end of the season.

Read in his interview about it that his wife has always supported his career and they are to become parents soon so maybe he’s just putting his family first - who knows for sure.
He’s a loss to Ulster. As you say, cracking player.
