Re: Ulster 2014/15
Banned until September 1st, the lack of remaining league games was one of the reasons for the big ban reduction along with the usual - nice suit etc. 6-8 game ban - 4 league games + 2 warm up matches in August + possible 2 playoff games
Re: Ulster 2014/15
How is it only clear now? That was in the original stuff.co.nz article.rooster wrote:The Charlie Piutau thing is more clear now as he is joining after Ludiks contract is over

Ulster have Sam Windsor for next season, an IQ'd Aussie as cover for 10 during the rwc. Was at Leinster a couple of years ago, but apparently only played for the 'A's.

Never heard of him, not even for the A's.neill_m wrote:Ulster have Sam Windsor for next season, an IQ'd Aussie as cover for 10 during the rwc. Was at Leinster a couple of years ago, but apparently only played for the 'A's.

According to WalesOnline, Patchell has no memory of the entire trip to Belfast, stretching from Thursday's flight all the way to his return to Wales.
It is unclear how long he will be out of action, with concussion very much in the limelight in rugby at the moment.
"Rhys will undergo the game’s return to play protocols but we are unclear when he will be fit to resume," said Blues chief executive Richard Holland.
“With concussion there’s no definitive time-scale for a full recovery. It could be days, weeks, months or worse."

Re: Ulster 2014/15
Indo reporting Michael Allen is leaving to join Edinburgh as a project player
side note that means Edinburgh will have 9 project players as it stands for next season (and another 9 granny qualified players)

I really like Allen, his hands and his kicking need a lot of work but think he's a brilliant squad player to have. Hopefully Scholes will really push on now, big fan of him.
Re: Ulster 2014/15
Allen is a decent squad player but he has established internationals in front of him and a bunch of well regarded younger players coming up behind so it is understandable why he wants to move.

Re: Ulster 2014/15
Whiff of Cordite have a very good post up today on how was Allen not better off and or guided to Connacht (same with Butler to Ulster to play 8 )?
serious competition on wing to play for Scotland Fife, Tonks, Visser, Maitland, Seymour
and Edinburgh will have a few international wingers ahead of him plus a guy with 20 Tonga caps

People forget that Ulster is mainly in a different country to the other three provinces but isn't in a different enough country. You have all the hassles of moving country but very few of the benefits.
