Lest there be any illusions, Connacht finished 20 points off a qualification spot and 31 points off fifth place, where they might have to be to certainly qualify for European top line rugby in future years. They were short by at least five wins, if the average of the past four Seasons is combined.

That's a big ask in improvement, but a fair indication of what's facing Pat Lam and his band of westerners and SH recruits!

Ibrox being mooted as a possible venue for the Rabo final if the results go the way of Glasgow and Ulster. Strange days indeed.

Would be great to see the final provisionally booked for Lansdowne given that there's a high chance of it being an all Irish affair, be a great way to showcase the league and specifically the Irish provinces to the wider rugby public both in Ireland and worldwide. A real proper showcase final.

Final venue.

Glasgow v Ulster = Ibrox
Leinster v Glasgow = RDS
Leinster v Munster = LR or RDS (Quite possibly LR
Munster v Ulster = LR or (More likely) TP

Is that official? Or just a hunch?

BTW a Munster v Ulster final in the Aviva would cause ructions down south and delight up north.

If we get there we should play the game where we are most likely to win it and not for any other reason ?, if thats Lansdowne, RDS or Donnybrook then so be it. At the moment going on to win this has to be our priority, I know this is impossible to answer but would our chances of beating Northampton at home have been greater if we had played them in the RDS ?, I don't know but can't help wondering.

Thought those Zebre figures had to be wrong, but there you go. Suppose 6% growth isn't terrible, but you'd expect more from such a low base. Drop in Connacht too, hopefully that gets reversed.

They had a fair few matches in under 2k seats sold.

You'd have to think that the Welsh regions will get their act together somewhat.

Huge jump from Ulster, they've passed Munster and could have had more if the stadium had been bigger sooner.

Munster have a unique problem with their 2 stadium strategy. The 4 games in Muzzer this season averaged 7K, the lowest attendance in TP this season was about 14K. So you could guesstimate that Munster lost out on about 40,000 ticket sales by sticking with the Cork venue. Thats easily a cool E1M ( a home semi could have doubled that). But then Cork is the population hub of Munster and they cant be alienating them either.

1 out of 4 right I'd say. Why play a final in Ibrox in front of 10k.

Or a half full Aviva
I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

Well Glasgow canna play in Scotscorn because its too small (see Ravenhill 2013). If Ulster get the better of us in the semi then I'd say a good 10K will arrive to Glasgow (assuming they beet the turnips (get it) )

Ibrox or Rugby Park in Kilmarnock are the only places available AFAIK.

RDS for Glasgow no question

Thomond Park the most likely for Munster v Ulster

LR for Leinster v Munster is well possible, otherwise RDS

Which one of those is the right one?

If the League get the gate receipts..... RDS
If the IRFU take the gate receipts..... RDS
If Leinster get (some of) the gate receipts.... RDS

Very surprised at Connacht's figures given the bump in season tickets they've enjoyed in the last couple of seasons. I'd say that will hopefully improve with the signings drawing spectators and hopefully a better start to the season than this year.

Also interesting to note that in one of our home Pro12 games, we get a bigger crowd than four Pro12 teams get in an entire season... sobering...

Glasgow would have been there until recently too.
