The intensity and ferocity at the breakdown is far and above what the 6 nations has had on display, in most of the games I have watched. Some serious clean outs and hits going on, SH rugby looks to have upped things a notch, its going to be a long summer tour for NH teams.
You obviously didn't watch todays games so. Because if you had two things would have been apparent to you.
1) It wasn't Rugby Union. It looked a lot like it, but there were a number of key giveaways. The Laws were different for a start. You could pass the ball forward, you could go off your feet to seal off the ball, you could tackle without making any pretence at using the arms, you don't have to touch the ball down to score a try - they seemed to be using some kind of NFL, once the ball breaks the plane of the line its a score type thing, the offside line seemed to be dependent on whether it looked like the ball would go wide - if you made a tackle that prevented the ball going wide, that was offside, the scrum feed was straight if it led to a passing move, it wasn't if the eightman picked and went, lineout throws that came off the top were all straight even if they weren't, ones that led to mauls were crooked - even if they weren't.
2) Now admittedly I'm judging this by the standards of Rugby Union, which it wasn't, but the games were sh!t.
