Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens
This is our first trip so let's see. It's the good trip this year too. Durban and Capetown instead of Pretoria and Joburg
Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens
Durban is still going to be humid AF though.

Be grand in the stands though...

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens
Humidity isn't the current problem in Durban, it's devastating flooding, viz:

Really tough on the locals and soggy rugby pitches are not a priority concern.

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens
Leicester Tigers side for the visit to Harlequins
15 Freddie Burns [96]
14 Harry Potter [35]
13 Matías Moroni [29]
12 Matt Scott [44]
11 Nemani Nadolo [31]
10 George Ford [122]
9 Ben Youngs [276]
1 Francois van Wyk [16]
2 Charlie Clare [46]
3 Joe Heyes [95]
4 Calum Green [85]
5 Eli Snyman [18]
6 Hanro Liebenberg [52] (C)
7 Olly Robinson [5]
8 Sean Jansen [2]
REPLACMENTS
16 Tom Cowan-Dickie [6]
17 Ellis Genge [104]
18 Dan Cole [283]
19 Harry Wells [149]
20 Jasper Wiese [38]
21 Richard Wigglesworth [32]
22 Bryce Hegarty [13]
23 Chris Ashton [5]
Our usual rotation for away games policy with a few players coming in with less first team appearances, but quality players throughout, I'm guessing some key players just getting a run out in the second half off the bench to keep them fresh for next Saturdays home game against Bristol. The mid week game against London Irish may well have some of this squad along with some youngsters. More than enough talent to turn Quins over if they are not at the top of their game.

I was assured every game in the GP was the strongest possible team making it the best competition around. Is this a Borthwich thing or has there been a change more generally in the GP?tigerburnie wrote: ↑April 22nd, 2022, 12:31 pm .......

Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

I'd like to hear about this too. For years media pundits have been trying to convince us, that "rotation" only happens in the supposedly "joke of a league" Pro**/URC.paddyor wrote: ↑April 22nd, 2022, 1:08 pmI was assured every game in the GP was the strongest possible team making it the best competition around. Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens
14 internationals in that squad, so hardly a second team, just that we have a couple of players banned and a handful carrying injuries, the development cup match will see a younger squad and I'd expect the best we have available for next saturday's visit from Bristol, pretty much the same squad will also figure in the home semi final against Dublin's finest. Every player in our squad has been given the opportunity to play in the matchday squad, very much like the way most of the top sides do so that we have players in every position that can step in seamlessly without having to get up to speed.

Joe Heyes coming up on 100 caps having only turned 23 a week ago is absolutely mental.tigerburnie wrote: ↑April 22nd, 2022, 12:31 pm Leicester Tigers side for the visit to Harlequins

Not sorry to read of Quins victory and Borthwich's comments after. Tigers are a tough team but now they've got to be smart as well. Aggression & playing for 80 mins isn't enough at this end of the season.

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens
Funniest bit of the Quins-Tigers match was Genge and Cole in their warm up bibs and in front of everybody at the ground along with the myriads watching it at home on the boob-tube giving the touch judge grief under the posts about the scrum peno¸their first 15 had just conceded. Pair of numpties. Even "Lol" commented it wasn't "a good look"..........

He will no doubt be touring with England in the summer, him and Freddie Steward will be exciting prospects going forward.

Tigers have announced new signings:
James Cronin, Jimmy Gopperth (39 at start of next season), Phil Cokanasiga (from LI) Olly Cracknell (LI)
I'm not sure who's leaving other than Genge.
