Griffin leaving
Tonetti, Wilkinson, Parks and maybe Clarke retired/retiring/maybe retiring
Soailio already gone

Swift is out of contract (37 next October)
Lam has already said they are trying to sign two centers.
Because Henshaw is going to the big smoke?
So are Munster :)

feck it Downey could do a winters job there

Say its more a case of as it stands they only have 3 senior centres including Henshaw who will miss a good chunk on Ireland duty/IRFU rest

Isn't he the second signing to come from the Chiefs set up after Clarke for this season? Not a bad side to be developing ties with.

Whoosh.

My sense of humour not quite connecting there.

Anyway, Sunday Times reporting that Connacht are trying to sign Mils Muliaina

Sorry the hamster wasn't quite on the treadmill for me yesterday.

That'd be probably the biggest signing by an Irish province since Dougie to Munster, discounting Brad for us as it was a temp thing. Great to see.

Is Mils even getting his game at the Chiefs? Seemed to come back from Japan with the value of his experience/professional attitude being highlighted rather than his current ability.

Mils has played every game bar one this season, only on bench once, been on the wing mostly, but has been taken off in every game

I see Connacht have signed another S15 player from NZ: Tom McCartney, hooker from the Blues but can also play LH prop. Three year deal.

some people complaining elsewhere Connacht have a lot of foreigners for next season but my count theyll have 4 project players (5 completed project players), one final year and two who look good value for Irish caps and two NIEs with one if not both liable to be retiring with injury

Considering that out of all of us they need the most support in terms of name/marquee/top level pro players to help build a professional culture, a brand and get success on the pitch that younger/developing players can buy into that's quite a low figure.

I'm not sure I'm fully sold on Lam but there are some interesting things happening out west and their late season drive (Ulster aside) has been fantastic to see.

Really good for Connacht, for too long they have been utter shite populated by third rate foreigners, good to see them signing established super rugby players, onwards and upwards.

Presume the money for Connacht signings is coming from IRFU. A lot of spend on NIQ players, considering all the noise they made about the other Provinces having them in 2012-3

Is McCartney the chap on the small side (slight I mean) with unusual strength for his frame?

there was the money budgeted for Soailo before he left prematurely, injury retirements and Dan Parks being put out to pasture as well as maybe Swift and Clarke so that freed up a lot of the wage budget
would hope with good financial health IRFU would give them more
