If they have Kleyn, Snyman and Jenkins in their pack along with Beirne & Coombes they could very well put the leinster pack under severe pressure ala La Rochelle and Saracens.

Carberry - Worried - problem is that he doesn't have the players around him to exploit what he can bring to a game and he doesn't have a coach who seems interested in finding out.
Pack - Did very well.
Result - BP what's not to like.

Which backs would you single out as not being at the races and why?

Unfortunately, as I’ve already stated, that is a game which Goggin would be happy to be able to forget.

For me I can’t think of any other back who had a poor game, in fact, I think each of the other backs had good games.

In simplistic terms there is only one player in the Munster backs that I would pick ahead of a Leinster counterpart.
Zebo.
Casey would be a player of interest.
Carberry would be a gamble worth making.
Allied to that is a coach who is forward oriented.
As a result the backs are subservient to that philosophy rather than additive.

That is a different slant to take than saying that the players are not at the races.

Going through the backline on display from Munster, IMO Casey, Joey, Zebo, Conway and Haley are all very good players who are at or not far off international standard and I’d be surprised if 4 if not 5 of those don’t receive a few international caps this season.
Scannell, whilst not a super star, is a very good player.

I can’t argue about Goggin, as he had a complete nightmare of a game on Sat apart from his kick through of Zebo’s second try.

However, the introduction of Farrell and DDA will be a big improvement.

Some good new on Hodnett, who I am excited to see progress.
The timing of his latest injury was very unfortunate as he looked like he was in line for a run of games.

Salanoa is not as fortunate, as he looks to be constantly going from one injury to the next.

Talented Munster back-row John Hodnett is set to bring his nightmare injury spell to an end, as he returns to training this week.
Hodnett has been sidelined since last November after damaging his Achilles. But the former Ireland U-20 star is now in line to take the next step in his recovery as he rejoins full training.

The 22-year-old will add a fresh dynamic to Munster's back-row options, as he looks to get his career back on track.

There is also positive news for hooker Kevin O'Byrne, who like Hodnett, is in line to return to training this week, having missed the start of the season with a leg injury.

The luckless Roman Salanoa (knee) is continuing to rehab and will be unavailable for the coming weeks, as fellow prop Liam O’Connor (neck) has also been ruled out of Saturday's United Rugby Championship clash against the Stormers at Thomond Park.

Another Munster prop, James French, sustained a concussion in action for the Munster Development XV against Leinster on Friday and will enter the return-to-play protocols.

Ireland centre Chris Farrell (abdomen) and new South African signing Jason Jenkins (shoulder) remain sidelined.
