That wasn't why we lost this game.

I think that might be our chance of Euro success gone now for a good while. This was the one to win.

Sexton retiring, Sarries back in and Saffers adding to the comp. What a shame.
Did you not see the scrums? It was an absolute demolition. Pure power.
Did you see the scrums? Illegal angles and early shoves all day. It wasn't power.

Don't think that was the difference at all to be honest. Thought La rochelle fully deserved the victory, we were just so inaccurate with our passing which is unusual.

Nonsense. They didn't score 3 tries off a scrum. Our undoing was we never held onto the ball from 60 mins onwards. You can't expect guys to defend for 15 mins straight and not concede.

Rewound to check that, you’re right
So what's the issue?

You've 90 seconds to take the conversion.

Game was over.

He wasn't great when he was on, but Ross was poor. His lack of athleticism at top level is a real hindrance.
I agree. When he came on I had zero confidence he'd get us out of a sticky situation. And so it came to pass. Time to fasttrack Harry, methinks.

Stop with the nonsense. There weren't illegal angles or early shoves. It was the LR eight absolutely smashing us with......... pure power and grunt.

Leinster don't have the power. The same fate will befall Ireland at the WC.

65 mins Lavault in the bin and 21-17 to us, all we did after that was defend mostly against 14 men. Absolutely sickening.

What year was the Canterbury euro top that was royal blue with silver badges? I've worn the top for the last 2 finals and think it might be cursed.

We just went (more?) into our shells and never imposed ourselves in any way for the remainder of the game. The defending was brave alright, but we never managed to break out once they got to our 5

Beyond Devastated!

But looking at the players that were on the pitch I’d say they’re way beyond that. Ross Byrne looked heart broken. Do you think he doesn’t know the mistakes he made? Time for supporters to support.

Be kind!

Yeh in fairness its the only time they have been poor all year! Although I still think bringing frawley on instead of ross would have been the better call. Sexton was clearly injured at ht and really shouldn't have come out for the second half. A massive well done to all the fans who travelled though. Onto next year. Can we sign Skelton please!!! Lol!!

No disgrace losing to LR but crushingly disappointing.

A few things came home to roost today, the scrum
Being the main one. When you add this to Leicester and Toulouse’s and Ireland v England it’s clearly a material weakness

Hard to argue that this team (say 2018 to now?) has fallen short of what they should have achieved. Consistently “failing” at the biggest test in Europe is now the pattern rather than the exception.

Up 5 at HT, up 4 against 14 with 15 to play - weak sauce to lose from there. No extenuating circumstances, a full deck against a marginally weakened oppo.

The Sarries final was close and swung on some marginal moments, the Sarries quarter was a disgrace, the LR semi one could point to losing Sexton etc but when you add this to those….

Nobody failed to try, the players will be devastated, but 1 cup in 5 years is below par.

Fair dues to LAR. Heartbroken. Very nervy game from us. Some lads very quiet in attack but I suppose that’s in part because of the nerves.
Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014
England A 8 - 14 Ireland A, 25th Jan 2014
Ruddock(c) 19/2 Tackles
