"It could range from two weeks to six months, and on that basis he could be joining the Six Nations late."

Any word yet on Gatland appointments.

He released the backs coach and the scrum coach but I haven't seen any news about any replacements.

More worry for England as Tom Curry limps off in Sale’s win over Harlequins

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/ ... ugby-union

From the article above

Exeter’s Luke Cowan-Dickie also suffered a worrying ankle injury over the weekend and Owen Farrell is awaiting the citing commissioner’s verdict following a contentious high tackle in Gloucester on Friday night. Curry’s availability is therefore a further complication for the new England head coach Steve Borthwick as he looks to his first Six Nations campaign in charge.

I don't think he will get any reduction as he has history of bad tackles and bans.

It's an RFU-appointed citing committee. There is no incentive for them to throw the book at him, he's going to be playing for their team throughout the Six Nations.

He does, but he's barely been sanctioned for any of it. POssible game winning peno?

IIRC he has 1 prior suspension.

It's called "coping a Johnson" for a reason.

There is a lot of precedent to be respected in this, but I wouldn't bet against him avoiding a 6N ban of any sort. Could make Sarries vulnerable in one European game.

From the article I linked.

"The three-time Lions tourist was banned for five weeks for a high tackle on Wasps player Charlie Atkinson in 2020, but the sanction was reduced from 10 weeks on account of off-field mitigating factors.

In 2016 he was suspended for two weeks for an illegal challenge on Wasps’ Dan Robson during a Champions Cup semi-final."

So this is a third citing for the same offence.

They've picked an experienced Panel, chaired by the Head of RFU Disciplinary Philip Evans, with a women member, who may perhaps reflect the views of the woman TMO who was "over-ruled" by the referee Karl Dickson, in a somewhat peremptory manner.

Farrell gets a 4 game ban, reduced to 3 if he does the tackle school so back in time for the 1st 6 nations game, now there's a surprise....
