It seems there are around 20 NFL grounds as part of the bid, so this RWC may have to be played in the summer to avoid a clash with the NFL season which starts mid September.

Maybe. There are 32 NFL teams, so 16 games per weekend. New York teams share a stadium. 2 or 3 games are played in London. Bye weeks happen too.

With a bit of careful planning and scheduling they might not even notice it.
