How are the front 5 stocks this year? Too early to tell? Interesting to read they looked solid yesterday but the U20 6 nations will be a different level.

no sign of any 2nd rows outside of leinster yet.. not a great sign

I doubt James McCormick will be playing 20's due to injury situation at ulster, Jack Boyle is missing at the moment as well.

LH Prop
Jack Boyle(Leinster)
Ben Popplewell(Leinster) - 1 start
Oisin Michel(Leinster) - 1 start
Kieran Ryan(Munster)
Joe Mawhinney(Ulster)

Boyle has been absent so far but when he returns it's a safe assumption he will be starting at 1. So far Popplewell looks most likely to be primary backup loosehead.

Hooker
James McCormick(Ulster)
Dylan Murphy(Munster) - 1 start
Josh Hanlon(Ulster/U19) - 1 start
Howard Noonan(Leinster)

McCormick has been absent so far, if he returns for the 6 nations he will likely be starting at hooker. Hard to call between Hanlon and Murphy at the moment.

TH Prop
Rory McGuire(Leinster) - 2 starts
Darragh McSweeney(Munster)
Scott Wilson(Ulster/U19)
JJ Hession(Leinster)

McGuire looks certain to be 1st choice at tighthead, hard to call who will be his primary backup.

Lock
Mark Morrissey(Leinster) - 2 starts
Conor O’Tighearnaigh(Leinster) - 1 start*
Fionn McWey(Leinster)
Paul Deeny(Leinster)
Edwin Edogbo(Munster) - injured

Morrissey and O’Tighearnaigh have been named to start both games, with covid only preventing that from happening, Edogbo is expected to miss 6 nations due to injury. No sign of Charlie Irvine or Adam McNamee so far which is surprising.

Backrow
Rueben Crothers(Ulster) - 2 starts
James McNabey(Ulster/U19) - 1 start
Lorcan McLoughlin(Ulster) - 1 start
James Culhane(Leinster) - 1 start*
Conor Moloney(Munster) - 2 starts

Crothers looks set to captain side from 7, Moloney probably looks set to be 1st choice 6, who starts at 8 is difficult to call at the moment between Culhane, McLoughlin and McNabey.

Scrumhalf
Ethan Coughlan(Munster) - 2 starts
Matthew Devine(Connacht)
Michael Moloney(Leinster)
Adam Maher(Munster)

It looks most likely between Coughlan and Devine for the starting 9 spot at the moment.

Outhalf
Charlie Tector(Leinster) - 1 start*
Tony Butler(Munster) - 1 start

The 10 jersey looks set to be a battle between these two players.

Centre
Ben Brownlee(Leinster) *
Fionn Gibbons(Leinster) - 2 starts
Daniel Hawkshaw(Leinster) - 1 start
Darragh French(Munster) - 1 start
Ross Taylor(Ulster/U19)
Ben Carson(Ulster) - injured

Gibbons has started both games at 13, while Brownlee and Hawkshaw were named to with French starting ahead of Brownlee due to covid. Carson is injured, it's unclear if he will return for the 6 nations.

Outside Backs
Patrick Campbell(Munster) - 1 start
Chay Mullins(Bristol) - 2 starts
Aitzol King(Leinster) - 1 start
Dylan O'Grady(Leinster) - 1 start
Callum O'Reilly(Leinster) - 1 start
Jude Postlethwaite(Ulster)

Patrick Campbell looks clearly 1st choice at 15, with Mullins and King on the wings. If Postlethwaite plays 20s this year looks unclear due to 7's.

Possible starting side for 6 nations:

1. Jack Boyle(Leinster)
2. James McCormick(Ulster)
3. Rory McGuire(Leinster)
4. Mark Morrissey(Leinster)
5. Conor O’Tighearnaigh(Leinster)
6. Conor Moloney(Munster)
7. Rueben Crothers(Ulster)
8. James Culhane(Leinster)
9. Ethan Coughlan(Munster)
10. Charlie Tector(Leinster)
11. Aitzol King(Leinster)
12. Daniel Hawkshaw(Leinster)
13. Fionn Gibbons(Leinster)
14. Chay Mullins(Bristol)
15. Patrick Campbell(Munster)

Thanks @mildlyinterested. Great info.

Surprised (and very pleased) to see just how many U.20's are playing AIL. Although the prep of the U.20 Squad has been cut-back by Covid, there is no doubt that AIL contest will benefit them in terms of match fitness.

Sad that there is only 1 Connacht player in the bunch especially as last years' crop was so good.

you'd wonder if the pandemic break effected connacht worse than others, they had a few players involved at u18 level but they've disappeared.

Only 1 player in there from Connacht. That's a pretty poor return on investment.
