The body positions of our forwards last night, particularly in mauls, was excellent. With the built and weight of our Props, the technique they have been coached by Tucker really paid dividends and we will need that next Thursday against Eng.

A lot to like last night and this Squad looks well coached and looking forward to the next encounter on Thursday. Wales looked poor but mostly because our guys were very well organised.

In 2 games Forde has made 272m playing inside center. He runs great lines.

The lesser talked about players played their part.
Loughnane was excellent. Technically very good and played a big part in the set piece solidity.

Donnelly was rock solid in the scrum up against Phillips who has played with the Ospreys. Down for 34m as well.

Sheridan had another good performance. He looks like he will be playing for Ulster in the next year or so.

McCormick and Byrne gave the Welsh a good battle. Whatever about the Welshfrom a technical point of view, they're big and we're going after ireland at the breakdown.

Moxham is like a bigger Fergus McFadden. Excellent athlete although a bit rough around the edges yet.

Corkery looks nice and composed and plays flat, challenging the defence. that helps the other backs.

He is 108kg on the munster site. Thats from 2018 when he joined the academy so he could be around the 115kg mark now. He is very good in the loose but needs to work on his handling.

Still listed on 2021 Academy Squad as 108.18 kg (that's exactly 17 st), so no change in 3 Seasons. Given that's this is a key metric for a LHP, you'd certainly expect that any change, even a marginal gain, would be updated. He's also listed as 6' 0" which looks a bit rich when you see him standing beside any of the Munster backs.

I watched England v Scotland. Hard to know how good England are. Between lost lineouts, missing touch, kick offs going straight out etc Scotland must have made 10 or more mistakes. That's not including handling errors, missing tackles etc.

So hard to know if England were taking them that seriously or just were not very good themselves. I'd fancy ireland going by the performances so far but it's u20s rugby so anythings possible and England might see weaknesses with Ireland to exploite.

They're incredibly lazy with stats so I doubt it's been updated. Even the u20 stats look a bit outdated for some players. Jack Boyle for example looks heavier than 106kg.

Here's a pick of him with the other props.

He should get a good run of games next season now that Cronin is gone. I'd say they wouldn't have let Cronin leave if they were not confident in J Wycherley.

well that was a pasting! scrum aside wales were battered from pillar to post

The irish side were bigger faster more skilled and better coached

who is that 12 you have ford is it? good player and the 8 was a right handful

if that is the best of what wales have to offer at this level then we are facing a grim next few years :(

Looks like they went mix and match for first two games and then picked strongest side for England?

Very much looking forward to this.

I dunno, injuries have effected squad a lot, with Doak being injured for first game and Lasisi injured for 2nd.

Osborne has some boot on him. Kicked a ball a good 80 yards there with no backlift at all! He still looks a little bit raw but a serious athlete.

Overall we're looking a little bit overpowered so far. Not getting the same breaks and easy yards as first two games.

Acknowledging I am biased but the ref has given every single marginal call against Ireland.

It's quite reminiscent of some of our recent games against the senior England team, except the last one of course.

We're lucky to be only 7 down.

Finding it very hard to get into English 22 and relying almost totally on their mistakes.

Doak has been fairly poor.

Biggest issue is that our pack look like good U20 players whereas theirs looks like it could do a job in the Prem!

Soroka must be in a bad way he’s been falling off a lot of tackles and contacts.

We should play short line-outs and split up their pack. Their defence is double-stacked in midfield, there is space wide. So hit double skip passes to wingers and grubber kicks from midfield. There pack are powerful but need to be moved around so get breakdowns wider, not just one-out.

We've defended well but must keep ball in play longer when we have possession. Their pack also have to carry a lot of weight around. This game has yet to be won.
