Stupid penalties as much of a problem as physicality for me. Three each against Corkery and Cosgrave (four for offside, late tackle for the former and a stupid lying on the wrong side for the latter) and that’s not what you need when you’re under the pump physically. I’m fuming at them on behalf of our pack.

Very impressive for the team to hang in there like they’ve done so far. Strong mentally but good technically in most scrums and a couple of important mauls.

Not sure if we can keep it up but being within 7 should boost us and worry England.

Add Corkery’s missed touch to the above post. No idea why he went that side.

BTW, the first English try was knocked on in scoring and should not have been awarded.

And that try comes from Cosgrave’s loopy pass, couldn’t believe he was brought back on tbh.

I don’t think that was a bad tackle but just because Kendellan was being tackled doesn’t mean he was low, he was still quite high up.

A couple of years ago they used the 20’s as the place to test the harder stance on high tackles, Ryan Baird got sent off for a ridiculously harsh one against Australia, this year they seem to be going easy on high tackles comparatively to senior rugby. Strange.

Something happened during the winter/spring, I don't know if there was a World Rugby meeting or decree or something, but in the spring cards, which had given based on an ultra doctrinaire approach to the framework, went down a notch all around

Wondered the same, just because we were going backwards doesn’t mean there was an offence.

I hate seeing scrums moving that quickly though, could lead to a serious injury.

How so? Thought it was a great call to try the drop, was actually shouting for it the second the penalty was given.

Great effort with the kick, very unlucky.

Quite like Des Curran as a commentator, don’t remember hearing him do anything other than football before but might be wrong.

Players wanted to go for the corner but one of Irish water carriers ran on with the kicking tee so they had no option but to kick at goal.
