sounds like Dan Kelly might be switching back to England, not playing irish 20's this summer anyway.

Would be a shame to lose both Kelly and Hayden Hyde (his centre partner last season) to the wider Ireland playing pool.

At this stage of their careers, England is a popular option. There are well funded academies and competition between 12 sides (+the championship) to pay players.

Irish academies are effectively amateur from the perspective of someone who wants to move to Ireland. We'd need to favour exiles to compete which would open the door to a step change in academy pay rises.

So I think losing the battle for exile talent is something we are willing to accept, with the hope of making an exception for exceptional talent.

Saw that this game was at tomorrow lunchtime in Donnybrook and thought that's great. Have a day off tomorrow and was thinking I might pop along. And then I remembered. :(

Interesting that they have 17 subs listed but we're 'picking' from 7 - three of which are props!!!

It probably doesn't matter but anyone care to make a prediction and possibly make a big reputation for themselves.

Hard to know. Depends mainly on 1-5 and the outhalf imo. Doak looked good for ulster the other week.

Anyone have stats on the second rows? Heights? We might not have the quality there compared to the last few years. That's just a guess on my part though. McCarthy was very impressive last year but not sure about the others.

McCarthy and Sheridan are 6'5.

Soroka is a top quality prospect but again only 6'6.

What’s the point of them telling us the game is happening and telling us the teams when we can’t even watch it 😂😂

Lots of Ulster & Connacht players in that Squad.

What's the Trinity / Connacht connection or have they just got a big scholarship budget?

Diarmuid McCormack is from Galway. Was in Jes and played with Corinthians and then moved to Clongowes for senior cycle.
