Try MAB

FS 30-24 Ireland

Another humiliating performance by Ireland. Hopefully we have one more in us after a serious long season.

Going to give a shout out to Casey and Scannell as well. Casey managed the game very well and Scannell did everything asked of him.

Yep. Casey played the conditions well.

Scannell was close to player of the match I thought, fair f%~ks to him.

Pretty much everyone played well, thought Timoney just edged Scannell for POTM but only a gnats tadger in it

both had a decent game...casey particularly. Thought a few of Scannels line outs were quite a distance out. One was a timing issue but apart from that, yeah. Good performance.

Thought frawley was excellent.

I'm happy the MAB's got that try at the death, so that IRL don't lose the run of themselves before the BIG ONE on Saturday. Reminds everyone in camp just how dangerous NZ can be, if you give them a sniff or even blink at the wrong moment. Very professional performance by Ireland. Clinical and impressive. Delighted for Michael Bent to get to play for a victorious Irish team in NZ.

Scannell, Treadwell, Prendergast, Timoney, Coombes, Casey, Frawley all excellent.

Loughman, TOT, McCarthy, McCloskey, Larmour, O'Brien all sòlid

Baird, Earls, Lowry a bit shaky.

Considering his midfield is a guy who hasn't played the Ireland shape yet and an emergency winger convert, i thought Frawley ran the attack pretty well. Clear our tactic was to play territory, which limited our opportunities to put it through the hands but when he did it was decent. He's well off Sexton's level in terms of game vision, but who isn't?! That'll improve with more games at 10. He certainly looks the best candidate to be our backup 10 till Sextageddon.

I have to say I thought the sin binning of the Maori wing for the 'deliberate' knock on seemed incredibly harsh, though I was delighted to get it. The touch judge wasn't convinced by it and nor was I. I couldn't really understand the question about 'could he regather the ball'. The player made an attempt to give himself a chance of regathering the ball, but his execution of that skill didn't enable him to do so. Does that make it a deliberate knock on? He clearly played the ball up into the air to try and re-gather.

Excellent team performance and great win. Not as cohesive as they could be with more work together but lots of those guys have demonstrated why they were selected for this Tour and are now occupying the box seats in the train to RWC2023. Nothing guaranteed as yet but now others will have to display why they should go ahead in the depth chart.

First big match display for Treadwell and they were very quick to get him off and keep something in the locker for the weekend. Very impressed also by Jimmy O'Brien, McCloskey, Timoney, Coombes, Loughman and Scannell.

I thought we really 'protected' the bench men for Saturday and keeping Herring and Murray out of the fray could have put the victory at risk. Loughman & Frawley certainly put their hands up for bench spots in the future, but probably not on Saturday (Frawley played the full 80 today).

Irish Rugby has improved the Depth Chart and proved once again that confidence trumps most shortcomings, including experience.

I don't recall Baird ever having a good game in a green jersey. Maybe he will be a great player but he's taking his time doing it.

Carbery came on as a temporary sub for Lowry, presumably HIA related. Lowry came back on.
