It was a real long shot anyway but I doubt McCloskey has any chance of being a bolter for the World Cup now.

It's a better team than I imagined it would be last week, looking forward to it.

Ah now. How was I to know they would leave Ruddock out for Diack. :)

Noticeable that of the 7 in the squad that are going to Tibilsi Cup, none are starting with 4 on the bench and 3 missing out altogether (Ruddock, McCloskey & Reid). Disappointing not to see McCloskey in particular but presume he will get his chance in Tiblisi Cup and no issue at all with Marshall getting gametime

Disappointed that Jackson doesn't start - its not really a big deal but I would like to see him get as much time with Murray/Reddan as possible

Its a pretty strong team - 8 if the starters will be in the WC squad, along with Ross, Jackson and Murphy probably. And that doesn't include Dave Kearney, Gilroy, Tuohy, Marshall, Furlong & Diack who will all have aspirations of getting on the plane

Conan is the notable absentee - not in Enmerging Ireland squad and not given a chance here (not really sure we need Heaslip and Murphy) - I would have just played Murphy and tuck Conan on the bench (if Murphy is our back up 8 then give him game time there)

I like to think of Jesus like with giant eagles wings, and singin' lead vocals for Lynyrd Skynyrd with like an angel band and I'm in the front row and I'm hammered drunk!

It's rare I'm exposed to Mark Robson's commentary these days. Forgot how painful it is.

If Robson wasn't allowed refer to the height and weight of the players he'd have very little to say.

Yeah it's been very poor. A mixture of the Barbarians being too cynical and the rain starting has made it a mess. I get that the barbarians will try and get away with lots of dodgy stuff but they were a bit OTT there.

Furlong has been good and Strauss' darts have been good (even allowing for the lack of competition in the air), they're the only real positives I can think of. Oh Jamie has been good too, but that's not exactly important to learn.
