Central Contracts......Again

I can only find 17 18 now (in fact I can't find Rory Best's, but I'm pretty sure he's on one) 7 of them ending in May.

Potentially all 7 may not renew/get renewed.


Healy & Kearney, up in the air.

Ferris & Trimble, would you renew them? 1 is unlikely to get many caps and the other is permanently injured.

Sexton, Don't mention the war.

Bod, may call it a day, may only play provincial (unlikely, more likely all or nothing)

I suppose it's a little ambiguous. Normally the IRFU announce it if it is a central.

Is Cronin on one? Seán O'Brien? If they're on central contracts, and including Leamy if his is still in place, that would bring it up to 20. I've seen it mentioned a few times recently that there are just over 20 central contracts in place. Who has the other ones?

I'd be very surprised if Murray is on one. He signed his first Senior/Full contract at the end of the 10/11 season. Presuming with his potential it would have been at least a 2 year deal bringing him up to the end of this season. Only has less that 30 Munster caps so still very much in the early stages of his career. He is quite likely to be in the reckoning for a central contract now given his age and current starting status. I would expect him to be in line for a massive pay increase too given his current contract was signed post academy with only a handful of Munster appearances.

Just going by the Ulster statement on it

Paddy Wallace has signed a one year deal which will see him contracted to the IRFU and Ulster Rugby until June 2013 while Tom Court has agreed a two year term which will see him wear Ulster colours until June 2014.
