Re: RWC 2023: Ireland
Does anyone know when the Irish World Cup jersey will be released??
Re: RWC 2023: Ireland
In 2019, they released it around 10 July.glenageary wrote: ↑May 9th, 2023, 1:44 pm Does anyone know when the Irish World Cup jersey will be released??

Re: RWC 2023: Ireland
The John Ryan / Chiefs unbeaten run ended......by the Reds in home game for Chiefs in New Plymouth. A huge surprise as Reds hadn't won in NZ for over a decade and are now only 6th in Table.
Score was 12-12 when Ryan was substituted on 44 mins.
Chiefs really never got going. Missed Sam Kane who didn't start due to injury.
Chiefs still top the log but will need to recover their mojo, which was missing today.

A 3rd RWC warm up game for Ireland on 26/8 in Bayonne v Samoa it seems. If true, hopefully goes better than 2007!

The Battle of Bayonne.
I hope we never make that mistake again.

See Frank got two games, in Montevideo and Santiago - lovely part of the world if he was considering a change.cormac wrote:Confirmed here along with refs for all warm-up games.neill_m wrote: ↑May 15th, 2023, 1:22 pm https://twitter.com/sami_sp/status/1657 ... 77728?s=20

Porter, Healy, Loughman
Sheehan, Kelleher, Barron? Enough to push out Herring?
Furlong, Bealham, Archer? Enough to push out O'Toole?
Ryan, Beirne, Henderson, Kleyn
Doris, Van der Flier, O'Mahony, Conan, Baird. Or could Coombes or Hodnett push in here?
Gibson Park, Casey, Murray
Sexton, Byrne, Crowley
Henshaw, Ringrose, Aki, Has Frisch done enough to push out McCloskey? Would be great to have two 13s and two 12s
Lowe, Hansen, Keenan, O'Brien
Then one of Nash, Haley, Earls I think. Two if O'Brien is pushed out, which could happen.

Re: RWC 2023: Ireland
Sexton video with him calling Peyper an Effing Disgrace is going to be hard to play down. He ain’t getting away with a slap on the wrist which would have some serious implications
Leinster jersey on the Great Wall of China.The Mongolians couldn't breach it but the Blues did!
Re: RWC 2023: Ireland
Indeed - as reported in a SA paper so hopefully exaggeration

Re: RWC 2023: Ireland
Apparently the video doesn't have audio, it has Sexton speaking to Peyper but the supposed content of the conversation is from a journo who knows Peyper. Now if this has occurred Peyper could have still red carded him and reported it and it would have been handling in citing.
The fact he hasn't done so in the immediate aftermath of the final means this is just trash tier journalist stirring

Despite Barron's burst of form, Tom Stewart has been there all season, but I'd stay with Herring;CiaranIrl wrote: ↑May 28th, 2023, 2:21 pm Porter, Healy, Loughman

John Ryan is flying with Chiefs, ideal option here;
Kleyn could get in although his skill-set isn't ideal;
Hodnett is a JVdF substitute ahead of Connors;
Coombes just hasn't the explosive acceleration to play international No 8 for Ireland;
Murray ahead of Casey;
Crowley probably now ahead of Byrne with his DG & Convert in successive games;
Frisch may get a slot ahead of Frawley, McCloskey or Hume;
Nash deserves a slot and has real pace and acceleration, rough on Larmour & Balacoumbe.
It's a strong Squad and will give selection options for at least two games.

Re: RWC 2023: Ireland
After a while thinking that Tom O'Toole was getting into Ireland squads based on long term I thought he looked good in the 6N.
I wouldn't be quick to drop him.
I could see Kleyn making a training camp, and he might kick on from there. But I'm seeing him as an outside bet.
Hodnett makes a strong case for bringing a specialist 7 as cover.
Crowley and Byrne are both going into camp, so the call won't be made on the last few weeks.
Frisch could have a chance but I've been assuming that Osbourne will be back in time and preferred.
Nash, Baloucoune and Larmour is an interesting call. All are 25 and have been scoring 0.4 tries per game. Nash has 5 tries in 7 games which shows form. Larmour and Baloucoune are stand out players and have lots of experience in the squad which helps them. Baloucoune's offloading game is probably what sets him apart and I think he'll get the nod if he's fit. Conway's return could change things too.

Re: RWC 2023: Ireland
I think Frisch has a great chance of breaking through into the squad. He's French on a world cup tour in France for one thing, but more importantly, he plays 13, where we have an obvious gap for the 4th center slot,. He is playing really well and he has a point to prove. I'm not sure you could want anything more from a guy who'll probably only play against tier 2 opposition.

Re: RWC 2023: Ireland
Conway and Osbourne ran out of time - can't see either having a chance barring a wave of injury.ronk wrote: ↑May 28th, 2023, 11:00 pm After a while thinking that Tom O'Toole was getting into Ireland squads based on long term I thought he looked good in the 6N.
