It'll mix the great and the sloppy I imagine but enough to get the win with the quality around him. Good to get test level pressure on him and see how his capacity to see gaps at the line holds up against a team that will struggle to maintain pressure over the 80 mins.propertymad wrote: ↑November 30th, 2024, 1:28 am Christ I hope to god Sam shoots the lights out ..... the vitriol coming from Shelbyville is genuinely unhinged

Lads, we need to stop being obsessed by the stuff that comes from some Munster fans. The polarisation along provincial lines that occurs on fan forums (including here- sometimes) is not a true gauge of all the fans of a provincial club. It’s not even a good gauge of the views of most of the fans on a forum.propertymad wrote:Christ I hope to god Sam shoots the lights out ..... the vitriol coming from Shelbyville is genuinely unhinged
Most Munster fans will feel some sympathy for Jack Crowley, but they will understand that Sam is a serious player- and is due his opportunity at out half. This would have happened at some stage in the next six months. They may be a bit surprised - or even disappointed by how soon it happened. But the “Silent Majority’ of Munster fans will be critical friends of Sam.
The Jack and Sam show will run- and run…. with “Special Guest Star”: Ciaran Frawley appearing very regularly.

A lot off the nonsense comes from Lunster's and folk who perceive Leinster as a Dublin entity.

Nice to see the genuine affection that Schmidt is being greeted with by some of his old charges on the telly. I can see Farrell being greeted the same way when he leaves.
It contrasts quite strongly with how Gatland is being talked about by people he coached to incredible success.
Let alone Jones.
Maybe not being an asshole works in the long run? It certainly seems to work better for Irish rugby. The downside is we don’t get the full court press on the media to put pressure on officials etc. but I can live with that.

One or two acknowledge he got way too intense the closer we got to the 2019 WC. There's an excellent insight into this, including from Sextons book, on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmtlCyrDDXA (indo rugby podcast). Specifically, early in 2019, when it was clear other teams had "worked us out", so to speak, but Joe thought it would be best to just get better at what we do already.
The way he is coaching and recruiting with Australia is brilliant. reminds me of the good old says when he was with Leinster and took Leinstertainment to winning finals and Ireland to beating the All Blacks.
Hope he gets an ovation today at aviva.

Porter not looking good here.

The jersey looks amazing.
Hopefully they will go on sale. With no Sponsors they really look vintage.
